Watching on Plus 1 so don't know if already been revealed, but pretty sure Otter is filming in Waterworld in Stoke-on-Trent, also lots of Ducks, landing in pool, also safety sign had all ducks next too words, and also in pool during performance . Very common phrase in Stoke, "Aye up Duck"

Phoenix-Gok Wan?

Walkingtheplank · 01/01/2023 21:41

Watched this on delay so havent checked out everyone's suggestions. My thoughts are:

  1. Knitting = Stacey Solomon
  2. Jellyfish = ?
  3. Otter = Josie Lawrence
  4. Ghost = I thought it was Ally McCoist, but so lovely to see Chris Kamara.
  5. Cat & Mouse = Was sure it was Emma and Jade until they started singing but the woman was too good a performer.
  6. Phoenix = Christopher Ecclestone.

Now to check out everyone else's better guesses!

Unicorn2022 · 01/01/2023 21:52

I'm watching on catch up but just watched Knitting and convinced it's Sally Lindsay

JaneJeffer · 01/01/2023 22:47

I think Knitting is Corinne Drewery

If it’s a Michelle could it be Michelle Collins ?

Good guess

AndNowForSomethingCompletelyDifferent · 01/01/2023 23:35

Michelle Collins is too raspy.

GolfEchoRomeoTangoIndia · 01/01/2023 23:46

I would suggest Ncuti Gatwa as Phoenix but I think that would go too far towards promoting a BBC show.

I was briefly tempted by the idea that Cat and Mouse could be Matthew Macfadyen and Keeley Hawes, because they're big ITV stars doing a show together tomorrow, and they seem to have a good sense of humour about themselves, but I don't seriously think it's plausible.

Ellmau · 02/01/2023 00:11

Cat and Mouse sound a bit older to me. I love their costumes. Is the detective/thief part relevant at all?

Walkingtheplank · 02/01/2023 01:13

That's a good shout re Matthew and Keely.

GrimDamnFanjo · 02/01/2023 02:42

I think Phoenix may have a musical theatre connection.
I originally thought of Adam Lambert as he does have an itv gig but the clues are a bit tenuous,

ToysThatWork · 02/01/2023 03:41

Could Cat and Mouse be The Krankies? Can they sing?

Piggywaspushed · 02/01/2023 07:39

I'd be amazed if they could disguise their accents that well .

Piggywaspushed · 02/01/2023 07:42

That said, they can both sing. I mean properly sing. I can't remember any of the clues for them , though!! Apart form the Jade bit. Which to me says it isn't someone called Jade!

OP posts:
Piggywaspushed · 02/01/2023 07:45

Oh! Oh!'Mrs' Krankie was in Spiceworld, I believe! Spices in a jar!! It's them, by Jove. I had completely disregarded them at the start but I do think it is them. The mouse is TINY.

HoHoHowMuch · 01/01/2023 10:42

With cat and mouse it's the size difference that's intriguing. First thought is the Krankies!

If it is them, here is the first call.....

I don't know if this has been guessed, but the minute Phoenix began to sing my dd said it's Phoenix Buchanan aka Hugh Grant! Seems a bit too obvious, but he does have his mannerisms.

Aha!

Just listened back at Phoenix and the voice is very distinctive. Not Hugh Grant, but Hugh Laurie. Was also in the film Rise of The Phoenix. Definitely same vocal tone and he does a cracking American accent (and has a great voice)

RainbowZebraWarrior · 02/01/2023 08:57

Sorry, Hugh Laurie was in flight of the Phoenix, not rise of the Phoenix

HoHoHowMuch · 02/01/2023 08:58

@Piggywaspushed I'm now convinced that phoenix is Benedict Cumberbatch, so no one should be taking my guesses seriously! It's someone tall.

burnoutbabe · 02/01/2023 08:59

I guessed the krankies last series but I think he is not that tall and she isn't that thin (and no shade, they are both 60+ )

RainbowZebraWarrior · 02/01/2023 09:29

HoHoHowMuch · 02/01/2023 08:58

Ooh. Hugh Laurie is 6ft 2! I'm now completely convinced it's him. He had a 'transformation' from UK Comedian to Hollywood acting and singing royalty. Plus, like I said below, it sounds totally like him
