I used to love this programme when it was out in the early 00's, I thought they all looked so glam and the houses so fancy.

Well I've discovered it again and it's soo dated! Everyone is smoking all the time, and in side! Tanya is shovelling so much gear up her nose at every opportunity and the acting is shocking...that said- I'm hooked!

Am I the only one hooked again?

the names aswell.. Tanya, Chardonnay, Donna & Ian.. brill casting and character profiling for the late 90s/00s!!

The plot lines in FW were bonkers though !
Even in the first episodes you had Donna and Ian's daughter kidnapped by the pool cleaner , Donna's sister shagging Jason Turner and Salvador rocking up and turning Donna's head . (Who can blame her , Ian does a running commentary on "scoring" and "he's going for it" while they're in bed )
Then of course there's the child they had as very young teens ( her parents made her put him up for adoption, ) and she wants him back .

And doesn't Tanya try and kill Frank ( Jason's boss) in Ep 1?

I remember watching FW first time round. The first series was superb, with a satirical edge. It was definitely mocking the world it was depicting. Subsequent series were more of a glossy soap, but fun none the less. I agree with others about Zoe Lucker, she really was extraordinary good, and I’m surprised she didn’t go on to bigger things.

I adored Footballers Wives! Talk about a guilty pleasure. One of those programmes where it was so bad it was good!

Me and DH had vested interest as the place where they filmed Chardonnay's hen night when she burnt her boobs was Addington Palace in Croydon. We used to live close by and went to the gym there. I was ridiculously excited when I found out they were using it for filming FW. Sadly I wasn't allowed to make a guest appearance as 'Woman going to Gym'.

Annoyingly we can't get ITV X on our telly (damn you Sky) so I'll have to try and get it on my tablet.

I’m rewatching this and LOVING it, it’s so brilliantly bad! But have I missed an episode somewhere or am I misremembering that chardonnay/ Jackie’s baby was a hermaphrodite (intersex these days I guess)?! there’s been no mention of it (unless I was distracted while rewatching it)

I have just got to the part where Jackie decides to give the baby to K&C when it’s born 🙂

@inthecitylateatnight you're not misremembering, that definitely happened with the baby. Not sure if that storyline happens after Chardonnay dies.

I've finally managed to locate ITV X ( could find it on Samsung TV in spare room but can't seem to get the app on the LG tv in lounge? What am I doing wrong??)

I'm loving it! Hard to believe it first came on over 20 yrs ago! Loving the garage music! Takes me back to the early 2000's. It NEEDS to return! Might set up a Tanya Turner fan club!

The acting is questionable but still fun to watch.

I believe the same writers for footballers wives also did bad Girls which was brilliant too.

Can also watch it on drama if you have sky
