Can't see a thread. What is this shite?

OP posts:

@Peasepuddingbloodycold the room isn’t big enough to have camera crews all the way round so they will shoot one at a time, redo bits when people make mistakes etc then move on. I imagine they have cameras on the person who is revealing and the reaction shot. They will intercut that with other shots and bits of Claudia. Tv takes are always filmed over and over from multiple different angles as well as shots for safety.

Peasepuddingbloodycold · 10/12/2022 11:20

Just adds to how draining it must be @AngelicaSchuylerAndHerSisters . I find the emotional overinvestment of the participants very believable.

Your explanations remind me of that Netflix series set in a reality tv show.

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 10/12/2022 11:22

They likely put a camera on that big round bit in the middle if the table which can pan around.

Oh and not to keep bringing up old episodes but having ago at Aaron for being emotional and crying and emtioning Wilfred crying and then( I think ) Jon cries the next morning getting emotional

Nothing wrong with bringing up old episodes 😁 I'm considering going back a watching them all again.

Maddie says that Aaron got emotional because he's a traitor and fellow traitor Wilf voted him off, then at the trial breakfast she shouted across at Aaron that it's all crocodile tears 🤷‍♀️ she really doesn't know what her own theory is.

As for John accusing Aaron of being emotional after numerous people had said he was a traitor and attacked his genuine character, but then John has a hissy fit for being put on trial 😁 I was so glad he went

Amanda has it easy at the moment, Wilf and Alyssa both got accused which is hard, it will be interesting to see how Amanda reacts when someone does eventually accuse her.

They really need to get rid of Maddie soon. She's now got Amos on her side, Wilf needs to accuse her and then they murder her, so a double bluff that a traitor wouldn't do that.

Ballsaque · 10/12/2022 16:14

It makes me laugh when they say ‘based on evidence’ and ‘I’m just looking at the facts’ etc

Err,it’s a tv show not a murder investigation.

Maddy sounds a lot like Stacey Solomon.

Indeed, the "facts" are.... Someone reacted to something.

They cried, that's evidence that they are a traitor! They didn't cry.... Traitor!!!

ReneBumsWombats · 10/12/2022 16:58

They haven't really got much to go on. I'm so glad it's not just me who either doesn't get "gut feelings", or frequently has them wrong when I do.

What exactly is Amanda doing to avoid suspicion like this? How is she playing it?

Mouldyfoodhelp · 10/12/2022 18:11

All caught up now and is it me or is Maddie ( the one that says Wilfred and Alyssa are traitors) isn't getting heard because she speaks kind of ditsy? She's spot on mostly. I think Alex should join the traitors after her BF going and being a faithful she would seem unlikely to be a traitor.

Whilst both her and her BF were in they logically had to be faithful as they're unlikely to lie to eachother and theyd make up 2/3 traitors and if one was picked off as a traitor theyd be the next obvious.

Not sure I could have been buried alive but I wouldn't have liked to have been rotated either.

lljkk · 10/12/2022 19:22

Maddy's logic makes no sense whatsoever for me... but almost none of their logic does. Just because Alex & Tom deceived about their relationship doesn't mean they were chosen to be traitors... And as for the people who can "tell" when someone is lying: pffft. They obviously can't.

I imagine that anyone firmly pointing fingers I would see as someone with an Agenda to get people eliminated. The more confident they were, the more I'd suspect them. I'd have banished Maddie a while ago!!

Meryl & Amanda never get suspicion. Welsh & dwarf not taken so seriously, maybe?

lljkk · 10/12/2022 19:22

ps: and I think Meryl would have been a great recruit.

I don't think it's because they're Welsh/have dwarfism. I don't know how Amanda is avoiding suspicion, but I wonder if it's all more because the focus is on others at the moment and people have only so much energy? Obviously on some level everyone's a suspect but the way it's set up means you can put only so much focus on individuals at any one time.

It's impossible, really. Anything anyone does could be sincere, a bluff, a double bluff or a triple bluff. I think that's what would do my head in if I were on there. We all like to think we're great strategists, read people well, great judges of character, but what's anyone got to go on in there?

Dotellhimpike · 10/12/2022 20:13

It could also be edited to give the viewers the impression absolutely no one suspects Amanda, when her name may have come up in various conversations.

Mouldyfoodhelp · 10/12/2022 20:20

I should explain I think the logic is completely mental because there's no way to tell, however she's got 2 traitors fingered and I just feel she's not being listened to due to how she speaks, if she spoke more elegantly/ more comanding I feel they'd have listened to her sooner

Dotellhimpike · 10/12/2022 20:22

Two? I thought Wilf was the only correct one she had so far.

She called out Alyssa as well I believe

Dotellhimpike · 10/12/2022 20:42

Fair enough, must have missed it.

lljkk · 10/12/2022 20:43

For me Maddy comes up with very weird logic that isn't logical at all.

EdieLedwell · 10/12/2022 21:29

She accused Aaron too, based on his panic attack when Wilf nominated him to leave. She perceived it as one traitor turning on another.

Which is exactly what happened between Wilf and Alyssa, so she's not miles off in her logic.

lljkk · 10/12/2022 21:52

But Alyssa didn't have a panic attack?
Wilf was shrewd to see his opportunity, and Alyssa's line about poison chalice, did she dream that up herself?

Maddy suspected Aaron before she suspected Wilf.
Maddy had a convoluted logic about them pretending to be at loggerheads when actually they were conniving (she alleged).

Everyone's fierce sounding confidence, when they haven't a clue.

Question is ... will Amanda win? Will Amanda recruit Alex to get Wilf chucked out? Basically Amanda & Wilf will (I predict) backstab each other (probably).

Kieran would have gone traitor instantly too, I reckon.

EdieLedwell · 10/12/2022 21:58

I can't take to Kieron for some reason. He definitely thinks he's smarter than the average faithful

ReneBumsWombats · 10/12/2022 22:20

Alyssa's line about poison chalice, did she dream that up herself?

I'm sure I heard someone use that line in an earlier episode, but I can't remember who or when.

I'm not sure how it is a poisoned chalice, though. As a traitor, you can't get murdered and anyone can be banished. At the moment there are way more Faithfuls than Traitors, so odds would be in your favour.

So I don't know what the poison is.

Dotellhimpike · 10/12/2022 22:21

Amanda has managed that rare trick of being the baddy but still having the public onside, trying to remember the last time a reality TV villain managed that.

How???

I can't figure out how she's doing it. I wish they'd show us.

Dotellhimpike · 10/12/2022 22:36

I think she's aware of the stereotype of safe old mum, totally benign and wouldn't hurt a fly, she's milking that for all it's worth. It seems to be a winning strategy, the group have shown multiple times how they are of the view anyone over the age of 35 is basically useless and harmless.

ReneBumsWombats · 10/12/2022 22:42

And I think the reason the public likes her is that she's very clear, to us, that she's aware it's a game and she just wants to play it and play to win. She's not getting overly emotional about it, she's not malicious and unlike Wilf and Alyssa, she seems to be enjoying being a traitor. That feeling when you get an acceptable outlet to do "bad" stuff...it's relatable and we can vicariously enjoy that villainous pleasure through her. She's just in there having a bloody good time fooling everyone and we all kind of wish we were doing it!
