Can't see a thread. What is this shite?

I'm absolutely LOVING this

Genuine mouth hanging open stuff

ButtonSister · 08/12/2022 22:21

I think everyone votes, the TV crew gets to see their votes and then decide the order to call the votes for dramatic effect.

EdieLedwell · 08/12/2022 22:21

Im gripped by this game. Reality tv never interests me, but this game is right up my street. It's fantastic!

RedToothBrush · 08/12/2022 22:21

Cupofteaplease21 · 08/12/2022 22:11

I think it's deliberate that Amanda is sitting where she is and has been the deciding vote twice.

Poor Alyssa.

That's what I'm wondering too.

If that's the case, then will the faithful notice?

And if Amanda is choosing that seat deliberately, that's a smart move for someone who looks like they are accurately counting up votes BEFORE voting.

If its a production decision, why aren't the faithful also asking questions about that?

Its an odd one.

One other thing. DH has played the game this has been based on a lot of times online. He used to drive people up the wall. He says the trick is not to have logic about who you pick and just pick someone for the shits and giggles because that drives the others most insane. The people who he hated playing against most was 'stupid people' because they don't have logic that makes sense. You can make everyone else drive themselves and everyone else go mad chasing theories that don't exist but a stupid person will just 'break the game' because you can't manipulate or influence them in the same way as everyone else.

So Wilf is probably playing better than you think, as is Maddie.

They will now start chasing those off the radar more I suspect with having found Alyssa. That might put Amanda under suspicion but she was smart enough to do what Wilf did and understand that it was going to be one of the two and she therefore had to pick. That could have backfired on her if Wilf had gone. That means she's probably counting up votes wisely - she voted the right way for the other tie breaker too.

That suggests she's playing well and has a degree of protection for a while too.

The faithfuls are going to be looking in the wrong direction again at least for the next episode...

Do you know what he name of the game? I don't play computer games but that is one I think I'd enjoy.

EdieLedwell · 08/12/2022 22:25

Wilf NEEDS to say to Maddie "if I was a traitor you'd be gone days ago"

Meryl really couldn't handle being denounced by Maddie could she?

JaneJeffer · 08/12/2022 22:25

I think Rayan might be in trouble now because he's quiet

Yes, that would make sense actually. It won't be random where the reveal starts from. We forget, watching, that there'll be so much time spent faffing about, stopping and starting filming, and lots cut out too.

burnoutbabe · 08/12/2022 22:29

I think it's based on a game called werewolf? It's a card game

EdieLedwell · 08/12/2022 22:29

Wilf looked like a caged animal when he was under pressure there. Theo even commented on it. I think he could 💯 go after Amanda or
Alex next if his name comes back in the frame.

ButtonSister · 08/12/2022 22:24

Do you know what he name of the game? I don't play computer games but that is one I think I'd enjoy.

It's an online community game rather than a computer game. So a group of people in a chat room. He has a big group of online friends he talks to from all over the world (I find this bloody weird even by my standards!)

DH knows it as 'villagers v wolves' but I believe it's originally based on a card game called 'mafia'.

The issue is you need a decent number of people to play - it's a proper party game (might appeal to people over Christmas)

But DH does say that you get a fair number of almighty fall outs... Play at your own risk!

I think that's another name for it too.

It has a number of names from what I've been told.

EdieLedwell · 08/12/2022 22:33

There's a computer game called Among Us which is similar. My neighbours kids (u10) play it, so I guess it's not as tense!

RedToothBrush · 08/12/2022 22:36

VerityFab74 · 08/12/2022 22:37

Claudia picks who goes first in showing their vote.
So Claudia is picking the person after Amanda so Amanda is last.
They have always gone around in a circle .

TeainanIV · 08/12/2022 22:42

@ButtonSister there's a card game version called 'Werewolf' lots of different versions, some with loads of extra characters/abilities. It's a great game when you've got a good amount of friends/family around! We love it!

HangerLaneGyratorySystem · 08/12/2022 22:43

So you know this is like a game show, for TV, and people are trying to win money? How come everyone is going to pieces all the time and losing their shit/sobbing everywhere (and that's just the men). Can you imagine this on The Wheel with cheery Michael saying "aw sorry Janet you're off the wheel you might come back" and contestant bursts into tears and rend their garments as they disappear under the studio floor ...

I think it’s a bit like big brother in that the contestants don’t have much to do except talk to each other and go round in circles thinking about and discussing who the traitors could be.

They all started out fairly normal and the two new guys aren’t over emotional, I think they’ve been deliberately driven to it for entertainment

EdieLedwell · 08/12/2022 22:50

I think it's the intensity of the environment that creates all the emotions.

The whole point with it, is building relationships and trust.

That doesn't make it like The Wheel.

Its much more like Big Brother where you build alliances within the house to protect yourself from nomination.

Hence the potential for explosion because its emotional driven. Unlike the wheel. People are immersed in it.

Its why it works in online communities too.

EdieLedwell · 08/12/2022 22:55

Alyssa was absolutely devastated to have to reveal herself as a Traitor. I thought Hannah and Rayan were extremely kind in that moment.

Amanda looked so shocked and I'm not sure she managed to pull herself together in the bar afterwards

BernadetteRostankowskiWolowitz · 08/12/2022 22:57

Claudia really is the perfect host for this. Dry, dark humour. A bit creepy vines

Definetly recommend Among US for anyone wanting to play a similar game on their phones.

PinkFrogss · 08/12/2022 22:59

I’m surprised no one, particularly Maddie after her theory based on Aaron’s reaction, picked up on the fact that Alyssa’s reaction to Wilf calling her a traitor was much more dramatic than her reaction to anyone else calling her one. She was slightly upset but mostly defensive when others accused her, but she crumbled as soon as Wilf turned on her.
And Wilf’s reaction to her leaving.

Considering how suspicious they already were of him I’m not sure he really did enough to deflect attention.

@JaneJeffer

Thanks, I knew I was catching a twang

happinessischocolate · 08/12/2022 23:24

Hopefully it's just the environment their living in which is making them all so emotional and when they get home they'll be thinking what the hell was I getting so emotional about, I don't even know these people 😂

Was it Amos that commented it's all gone a bit lord of the flies 😂
