If you think this thread has been vitriolic, there's been very similar reactions on Twitter. I'm a Celeb is supposed to be light hearted, and to put such a controversial person in as MH, has brought up real, traumatizing feelings for many, many people due to the devastating impact of decisions made by the Gvt during the pandemic, something which as a nation we are still dealing with. I don't know why ITV did it, ratings I guess? So people's anger is totally justified, as is the despair that others are liking him and praising him. As a person, I think he's coming across much better than anyone expected and so some pp are feeling a begrudging respect for him, which is disconcerting, as we all probably wanted to hate him.

Conversely, a previously v popular and beloved pop star, Boy George is not coming across well, not a team player, and many pp are disgusted by his crime, and don't feel he should be in there, especially as he doesn't seem to be especially contrite for what he did ( although he was heavily addicted to drugs at the time and has made huge efforts to be clean since then, something which shouldn't be discounted IMO ).

So basically all I'm saying is, everyone's strong feelings are valid and understandable and maybe we could give each other some slack on this thread...?

Is it just me who wants BG, CM & even MH (though I have strong cognitive dissonance about that) to remain in because MT and Sue don’t add much interest. These shows work best with a bit of friction.

I KNEW MH would get a meal! The fact Owen didn’t as well - it’s a bit too convenient.

Loved how Sue Jill & Matt all swore not to talk about their meal and be sensitive and then proceeded to give them a blow by blow account of their afternoon 😂

V much looking forward to seeing Charlene do a trial. She’s seriously getting on my tits - so patronising to Scarlette and so PA about the hammock. Just sleep in the RV FFS! Also it’s much softer this year - in previous years that would be considered breaking the rules (as was helping with dinner) and the camp would lose stars.

I’ve voted to keep Seann and Scarlette. I love them both, Seann is hilarious! I actually thought Chris was really funny too this episode.

And one last important question - what can I do to make them all stop singing? It’s every episode and it’s cringey AF. I actually fast forwarded through their squawking tonight. Has someone told them it makes them more likeable or something?

I didn’t know about the BG crime until after IAC started, and honestly, started to dislike his personality only a few days in.
He comes across as rude, entitled and not a team player.

Didn’t think I’d like MH, for obvious reasons, but actually he does come across to me as being patient and respectful. He is getting a lot of stick, but so does everyone in public office at some point in their career.

I can’t quite put my finger on why I dislike CM.

MT doesn’t seem to be getting much air time but I have no dislikes about him.

Owen is just a typical lad, still in that innocent phase I think.

I think Scarlett will be first out, although I’d like BG out first. I like Scarlett, but I don’t think she’s entertaining enough.

I love Jill, she comes across as a breath of fresh air, I’d like her to win.

Vote Sue to get off her bottom and do the trial.

Some people are so starry eyed about celebrities and want others to STFU when they call them out on their crimes. It reminds me of Michael Jackson fans - total and utter loons who wants victims to be silenced because reminding them their favourite pop star is a huge nonce (or in BG’s case a huge victim blaming lying minimising thug) is inconvenient to their sensibilities

Owen and food. I understand he’s hungry, but they’re all hungry. Why does Owen and all the others seem to think Owen must be fed so much more? It’s getting on my nerves. They’re all talking as if he’s 8ft tall and really muscly. He’s really not that big, he’s no more hungry than the rest of them.

I've said it before and I'll say it again - shame on ITV for giving MH this platform. They should be ashamed & they have ruined the show.

I have absolutely no idea why people expect multi-million pound media companies to actually be morally upstanding and ‘do the right thing’ when instead they could make a shit tonne of money. They have played a ratings blonder putting MH in there, I highly doubt they feel the least bit ashamed when the money comes rolling in. Anyone who expect otherwise is v naive.

Exactly. I haven’t watched this show for years and only did because of the huge publicity surrounding signing MH.
