I've just seen JG described as 'the Bernard Manning for the woke set' and this chimed with me!

But we are somewhat up against it here. My eldest daughter is 24. She's clever, she's bright, she has a very responsible career, university educated

We got into the topic of FNL and JG last night. She roundly told me off for referring to JG as 'he'

But .. he has a penis, I said. He got it out on Friday night and played a piano with it. Only a man had a penis. You understand that yes?

No she said. She's a woman because she doesn't identify as a male

And on and on we went, in a big circle. She called me transphobic (I'm not) and said to me that if you have your male organs removed, you are female and if you have too surgery, you are now female. I ended up shaking my head and we laughed it off but bloody hell..

She has an A level in a science. This is what (some of) our younger people genuinely believe and I'm not quite sure how they believe it

My 17 year old DD, with an A in GCSE biology, who not too long ago was intending to study to be a doctor before she changed her mind, believes that changing your gender by surgery and hormones, changes your biological sex. She doesn't believe sex is determined by by your genes.

It's this idea that you can be anything you want . Forget science and biology. It's frowned upon to speak an absolute fact - there are two sexes - make and female - you are born with X chromosomes or Y chromosomes. You can't will yourself to be something else . If that were true I'd will myself to be rich , or a tiger , or an elephant . But my biology is that I am a woman . I could dress like a man and act like a man and have my hair cut short and take hormones- but I'll never be a man . I do t understand how this can be interpreted as hate or transphobia- it's a biological certainty - a fact . How can a fact be a lie ? I've said many times - I have no issue with anyone identifying as whatever they like - but you are born a male , or a female . You might "feel" like you should be something else but by that logic I should be allowed to be called a tiger and paint stripes on , and hunt idiots to eat because I feel like a tiger ?? It's truly bizarre. Worlds gone mad .

Just caught up with this last night. I did have my doubts about shared spaces but now I've seen an aggressive trans woman playing a piano with their penis that's all behind me now.

Science is science not religion. It doesn't require belief, it simply is. So, potential doctors and other scientists, pay attention. If you dont like it, move to the Arts and believe whatever takes your fancy.
