MAFS spoiler thread.

As the current thread is restricted only to discussing what is actually happening on the show, I thought I'd set up a spoiler thread where Instagram posts, Daily Mail articles etc are allowed to be discussed.

In no way is this meant to replace the main thread and discussions about the show. Just so that comments that are not allowed are able to be discussed.

I didn’t like Adrian’s friend Kate at the wedding. She was really full on and quite rude.

I’m still not keen on her to be honest! It feels like she’s acting ‘protective’ to cover up that in reality she’s worried about losing her bestie.

Thegroaninggurner · 29/09/2022 21:47

Why has Kaisha got her boobs out? Leaving absolutely nothing to the imagination!!! Why not just go the whole hog??? Lmao

I thought both her and Thomas were in over the top on the wedding day! She's a bit like a child almost possessive like!

Yes that’s what I mean! She’s really possessive over her friendship with Adrian!

Thomas always takes things to the extreme, but I could understand on the wedding day why he was getting pissed off with her. She was annoying as hell!

browneyes77 · 29/09/2022 22:04

George’s mom just enabling his victim behaviour….. 🙄

TitsInAbsentia · 29/09/2022 22:16

Slightly abridged from Thomas' insta (cause he does kerwaffle a bit):

"Whit and matt had spent hours and hours together in Matt's apartment. This was condoned by G&A.. And George had earlier been talking about the fact April had been 'straddling a woman in the hot tub and kissing with tongues, it actually happened"

Ahhhh...and there's George's mum just not wanting him to get hurt 🙄

We have only had 2 seasons, one with no drama and one full of drama. How much feedback could there have been? I would rather watch people being boring and building good relationships, like the Sewing Bee or Bake Off. Than fake, manufactured drama.

Although I enjoy all the drama of the new style series, I much preferred the old style series- it was more of a documentary style where they all had ongoing counselling and lived in the real world. They also made a big thing about them being legally married.

Midlifemusings · 29/09/2022 22:32

April kissing another woman on the honeymoon is a big issue.

Matt and Whitney weren't cheating...that is a weird story line. Matt and Gemma were dead in the water from night 1 and had been in separate rooms and barely saw each other. Duka and Whitney had never left the starting gate and Duka didn't even care.

Weird for Thomas / Adrian to compare these two scenarios.

A580Hojas · 30/09/2022 06:40

Re. Jonathan. I said on day 1 that I don't actually think he's very bright. There's not much personality there. I think he's probably always traded on his looks. He's really not much of a catch.

icelollycraving · 30/09/2022 07:24

I was pleased when Respect The Forum said no initially but I knew they’d let them stay. Do you think they actually fancy each other? Like, really. Attraction is a weird thing, maybe they’ll be the surprise love story of the season. I see he’d trimmed his Viking beard and given the super noodles that perch on his head a bit of a fresh going over.
When he was at the wedding, I thought that he looked intimidating but then, because of his tattoos etc. Imagined him to be played out as a big softie and a big lesson in not judging a book by the cover. Got that wrong.

OnTheBrinkOfChange · 30/09/2022 07:36

I don't think they should be allowed on the show if they have children. It's just crazy to think of someone pretending to be married when they have a family back home who hasn't even met the person.

I agree. I'm sure this used to be the rule anyway before it all went weird

Keame is trending on Twitter, there are some hilarious tweets

Everyone is going to a home. Kwame is roaming the streets like a fox #MAFS

Oh hell I have to go to twitter!

Right now I am listening to the mafs podcast interview with Lara - she is so lovely and Richie is an utter child, hope she finds someone who deserves her! May his attempts to relaunch his music career belly flop like a drunk polar bear...

beneathhereyes · 30/09/2022 09:43

Yes the cheating story is a misnomer as from their insta stories it is clear that Matt and Gemma had agreed that they were leaving and there was nothing between them. Both Whitney and Matt spoke to Duka who apparently wished them well (as there was nothing happening there either).
I'd love to see a conversation where George doesn't look as if he is about to cry. April must only be in it for the exposure/fame, there is no way she wants to shack up with George and his parents and heartbeats in the hills.

TitsInAbsentia · 30/09/2022 09:45

Thomas needs to stop with the distracting stuff...on the show yesterday it was the eyebrows and on his insta now its his rubber lips 🤮

beneathhereyes · 30/09/2022 09:46

And why on earth is Kasia still there? She seems to have got zero from Kwame, all he cares about is that she cooks him meals.

Midlifemusings · 30/09/2022 10:38

If you look at April and Whitney's Instagrams pre MAFS (although Whitney has recently deleted a lot of her pictures) they are very Instagram influencer style - all fashion and trips to resorts and Dubai and lounging about in bikinis. April also had lots of movie premiere invite type pics. Both already had some small sponsorships. Whitney and April have zero interest in barbershop or country living men. Completely incompatible with their current lifestyles.

Midlifemusings · 30/09/2022 10:40

Thomas is milking his 15 minutes. He and Gemma are very similar - both went for over the top personas to maximize attention and to get as much airtime as possible. Now they are working those 15 minutes into whatever they can.

Anyfeckinusername · 30/09/2022 11:36

I just wanted to say the dragging down of Sophie and ripping her career apart is disgusting. The girl has a great cv, and has ambition. Why choose to tear her alert Confused

Anyfeckinusername · 30/09/2022 11:37

*Apart

Iamthewombat · 30/09/2022 11:56

Because she’s the one pretending to be Sheryl Sandberg when she clearly is not. Not even close. Who else do you think should be called out on this particular line of career fantasy, if not the person peddling it?

I explained upthread why it is offensive (haven’t caught up on the thread since then). It both misleads young women who might want a proper career in tech, and diminishes the achievements of those who do. Anyone can flog E-commerce solutions (that’s what channel roles are about: bringing in revenue) or memberships of a non-profit (her previous role). They are not tech roles. She won’t understand what cloud computing is or what data centres are, so why pepper her conversation with those terms? To look important? Anyone who truly had a ‘great CV’ wouldn’t need to do that. Or go on a trashy reality show.

I’m aware that bullshitting about career achievements is a thing. Over the years, I’ve got very good at spotting it. You can either do a role, or you can’t. I’ve worked with, recruited and dismissed many of the latter. ‘Fake it until you make it’ is a disaster for any proper business, and that makes me impatient with the exponents of that behaviour.

The people who are offended by reality checks on career bullshitters have either done it themselves, or have children whom they will encourage into it.

Anyfeckinusername · 30/09/2022 12:02

You're at it again? So what if she aspires to bring Sheryl Sanders, so what?! Her LinkedIn profile shows her background, I've no idea why you're laying into her so much. She has a perfectly reasonable partner manager/channel manager profile.

Sorry but I work in a similar ish role as Sophie and I know what cloud computing and data centres are.

What is wrong with you?

The show edits a storyline to make two people seem very different. She is a cast on a reality tv show that has produced her storyline. You are taking this way too personally. She isn't claiming or pretending to be anyone. Her personal life and real life job are no one's business. You are like a dog with a bone and completely fixated on an irrelevant detail. You are getting creepy about this. Let it go.
