MAFSUK7 I closed my eyes. Drew back the curtains. To see for certain … Adrian’s coupon. Far far away - someone was gobbing off.

New one for when the old one has filled up or when Thomas stops gobbing off.

whatever is quicker.

I've just had a thought about all the stuff we're missing. I bet they're saving up all the juicy outtakes for the reunion - then we'll see exactly who said what in the loos (April & Tom) etc

I wouldn’t go back to a hairdresser who talked the way Gemma does, I’d be cringing so hard my hair would end up too short

Can you imagine parents evening with a male teacher? Wouldn't shock me if schools considered her behaviour a safeguarding concern! Didn't she say she has an 11 year old and a 4 year old - so the oldest is secondary age, would be beyond embarrassing poor kid!

If only! Sadly I suspect we'll never see....imagine April in the hot tub snogging with an elderly American lady 😂

JellyBeanFactory · 22/09/2022 09:41

I'm more and more convinced that we're being taken for the fools here. The commitment ceremonies apparently last hours and hours, yet we see each couple for about 3 minutes. We haven't seen the ixperts address:

  • Whitney's obvious reluctance to join in anything. Her complete contempt for Duka and the whole process surely should be questioned.
  • Why was April crying? No mention of the bathroom bitching.
  • The vulgarity of Gemma. They seemed to excuse it by saying she was a strong woman and that was her way. But any expert would surely question why she was so coarse.
  • The sudden turnaround by the 2Ks. I guess they have been "intimate" now but that aftersex glow doesn't last forever.
  • Adrian's over the topness. Again, any expert would delve deeper into why he has the need to do this.
And so much more. The producers/editors are creating their own narrative I'm sure. I've watched Olivia (MAFs Aus) insta stories and while I don't condone her behaviour, it's clear she was made out to be the villain. It's like the producers now want to create caricatures and they have willing contestants. Just my ramblings while I wait in the car for a very boring monthly meeting!

Going back to spoilergate...no spoilers have been mentioned it was just the word spoiler! So if people are taking the puss out of the flouncers this is why! People were only warning others that there was a "spoiler" doing the rounds they didn't say what it was 🙄.....it's a massive overreaction!! And yous say thomas is dramatic 😂

Maves · 22/09/2022 10:06

Sunbird24 · 21/09/2022 16:36

I did see somebody post exactly what the spoiler in the DM was last night - fortunately I’d already seen it and it was during a fairly active moment of the dinner party so the thread was moving pretty fast at that point and several people probably missed it. They also didn’t specifically link it to the spoiler so it could potentially be written off as just their opinion if I’m being kind.

Well they ain't gonna miss it now.....😂

Sunbird24 · 22/09/2022 10:21

Maves · 22/09/2022 10:06

Well they ain't gonna miss it now.....😂

That’s why I didn’t quote it or say who posted it or at what time🙄Anyone who cared enough to go back and try to track down the specific post is probably someone who would have gone looking for the spoiler anyway.

But people keep saying nobody’s said the spoiler, when one person actually has and several have made thinly veiled references. It’s not necessary, if it’s not been mentioned in the show yet please just don’t say anything.

Doubleraspberry · 22/09/2022 10:26

The explicit spoiler got deleted.

Can we move on? The more we discuss this sodding spoiler the more obvious it becomes even without details, and I have every sympathy for people who prefer to hear nothing at all! This argument has ruined this thread.

MelodyPondsMum · 22/09/2022 10:30

If George stays with April, his 4 other heartbeats will have moved out by the end of the first week. She'd be the epitome of a wicked SM - fake tears, lying, making them climb tall buildings if they're afraid of heights.

I sort of see where the experts are coming from with Duka. There is no emotion. He is completely bland and closed. He's writing STAY every week because she makes him toast ... and not because he wants to be on TV? 🙄

Matt gives such angry, controlling vibes. I really dislike him. I'm glad the expert pulled him up on his sarcasm. But he's obviously there for the cameras. There's no valid reason for him to write STAY when he deeply despises Gemma. Suggestively eating a sausage (tacky as it is) is not masturbating at a table in a restaurant. Gemma needs therapy and someone kind. Maybe we could bring PJay back for her.

TitsInAbsentia · 22/09/2022 10:38

I'm only properly watching last night now. Marvelling at how April can't cry properly because of all the tox in her mush/coupon/face.

Whitney missed a golden oppo there....ixpert Paul asked her if she's wants to fight...she should have said YES! You, me, nekkid in jelly now! Poor woman looked like she wanted to throw up when Duka said stay.

Triggering and emotional ruin....to be honest I can't see Matt and Gemma going anywhere with this.

At this point I'm not seeing anyone making it all the way and beyond, lots of vibrator promotion on insta in the future...

That was a pretty crap show overall. 5/10...one of those marks is for Tom's eyebrows...not sure if en flique was the correct description...seen from the moon maybe?

HappyPeach · 22/09/2022 10:39

Reading all that in the last post has me thinking the whole thing's made up with paid actors..

HappyPeach · 22/09/2022 10:39

& poorly made up too

TitsInAbsentia · 22/09/2022 10:42

Link to the next Fred cause we'll need one soon

Did we ever find out whether they get a flat fee per day or whether there are incentives to get to say week 4, 6, 8 or whatever? Or even penalties say if Whitney had said nope, not staying even though the rules say she has to?

I seriously hope this lot don't have equity cards!

Sunbird24 · 22/09/2022 11:00

Yeah, I think this is the worst series so far in terms of both content being shown and the characters/matches. Finding it really hard to care about the outcome of any of these matches…

beneathhereyes · 22/09/2022 11:16

To be fair to Matt, if my 'husband' was making constant crude jokes from literally the second we met, I'd be putting up a helluva lot of walls in order to protect myself. He has made it really clear that he finds this behaviour vulgar, but she keeps at it. I don't know how/why anyone would expect him to get physically or emotionally closer to her when he is so repulsed. It isn't his job to heal her or make her feel more accepted.

TitsInAbsentia · 22/09/2022 11:22

@beneathhereyes I completely agree with you, it's not acceptable from either side. Same as Kasia's thirsty behaviour. And it's come up a fair bit on twitter that if the bloke had been behaving that way it would have attracted a lot more heat. Sadly sometimes equality falls flat....

MelodyPondsMum · 22/09/2022 11:26

Matt's red flags aren't Gemma's making. He shows them all the time even when he's not with her. He might have hidden them better if she was smaller, thinner, more polite but aggression rolls off him in waves.
I know a PP thought April was referencing his tatts when she said she was scared of him. And she might have been but I don't care about his tatts - lots of people I know have tatts - it's his attitude that would make me give him a wide berth.

Mouldyfoodhelp · 22/09/2022 11:43

Haven't watched last night's yet so maybe I've missed stuff but have we really seen much of Matt apar from him being dismayed by the vulgarity of Gemma, the others were also put of by it. I mean walking off what 2/3 times isn't ideal but if he's literally having to deal with it constantly it must get annoying if like the experts said he isn't feeling heard about it.

Doubleraspberry · 22/09/2022 11:47

We’ve seen almost nothing of anyone, have we? I said to DH last night that I feel all I know of Zoe and Jenna is the vegan arguing. Other than that, I don’t feel I’ve seen them as a couple at any point. We didn’t see any footage of them in intimacy week for example. After the honeymoon, the majority of the shows have been about the dinner parties and commitment ceremonies, group dynamics and a small number of people.

SicknessAndDiarrhoea · 22/09/2022 12:02

@Maves

I didn’t read it as a flounce. Just backing out to prevent it escalating. As is her right.

You come across as a bit of a mean girl tbh.

MelodyPondsMum · 22/09/2022 12:16

Matt has been controlling, manipulative, stonewalling and gaslighting. My friend works in DV - maybe that's why I'm more aware of the warning signs. The more I see of him, the more I think he shouldn't have made it through vetting.

GraveAndQuietAtTheMouthOfHell · 22/09/2022 12:25

The producers seem to think the TV audience want group "drama"- petty arguments, confrontations, character clashes ... like some kind of Big Brother.
They seem to forget it's Married At First Sight and SHOULD be about the development of relationships and how, because they are married, the couples have to face difficulties and find resolutions and can't just flounce out... That's what made past series much more interesting for me.
I think it was @dillite who called the ixperts "muppets" and that's so accurate. They pretend not to know things; rarely seem to give any real guidance; don't get involved when they could prevent petty drama; have complete double standards; and give contrary advice to different couples. Muppets.
Also- it's only six weeks it would appear. What meaningful relationship can develop in six weeks??? That's why they have to pad it out with "drama"- and a forced fast structure of dinner party/ task/ commitment ceremony....repeat. There isn't time for relationships to develop.
The programme needs proper ixperts who actually help and guide the couples, much more focus on the couples' relationships, and much much longer for the relationships to develop.

I agree. Wish we could have less of the experts because they actually seem to be really incompetent, and more of the couples just going about their day to day lives.

I don't actually blame Duka for wanting to stay. Why couldn't Whitney just slap on a smile and get on with it for a few more weeks. Surely everyone who enters wants to stay to the end?

Although, Jess and Lara were right to call it quits because their fellas were getting overly emotionally invested.
