See I think this too. He doesn't seem to interact like the others do. I think he's unemotional (although he did get upset when Whitney read to him from a diary) and plays it safe and Whitney is used to thriving off emotional responses.

Don't get me wrong I think Whitney is tiresome and was from the get go but I genuinely believe she has tried to make a bit of an effort and she's just getting some rehearsed cold speech from Duka.

I think that Duka is also immature and probably not very experienced when it comes to genuine relationships. And then he is presented with someone who hates being on the show, hates him, hates everything and he just has no idea what to do or say.

I don't understand why Duka wants to stay. What is he getting out of this?

Gemma just makes me feel so much second hand embarrassment it's unreal. I think Matt is a cock and he wouldn't last five minutes with me before I tore him a new one for his arrogance but she is just unreal.

To go from feeling immense sexual attraction on his wedding day to barely being able to go near her must been some extra level intensity right there. Gemma gives me real intense vibes from insecurity or just ignorance. Nobody is going to realistically going to expect a couple who have just met each other to be able to discuss stuff like she thinks is appropriate and I'm not surprised if Matt doesn't fancy her, it's really cringe behaviour.

I think what strikes me themost with Gemma is that she has no embarrassment when it comes to repeating these things that she's said, so that (to me) means that she's grown up around people who have allowed or even encouraged it? She's never been told she's gone too far?

Duka doesn't really seem to have much about him but it's so hard to tell. I wasn't a fan of the old format but at least you so them try to go about their 'normal' lives whilst married, ie going to work. I guess there's no time to work if production are making you pose and re-shoot things as we are led to believe they are.

I think you've answered your own question there. I've not seen the spoiler but it's obvious from comments on here 'it's a good match' that it's two people getting together and those in the know will be 'looking for signs' which means whether you mean to or not every time you talk about those people now on this thread it will be slanted by what you know. I hadn’t seen the spoiler so I’m speculating. But my mind is joining things together now annoyingly.

I agree Mammy and remember feeling like this last year. The viewers only get to see tiny snippets of their day to day lives as a couple, which is after all what makes a marriage. We hear gripes and grievances from the individuals at these big group events but haven't seen enough ourselves to form our own opinion (I'm thinking particularly Whitney and Duka here because it's hard to see where her utter hatred of him comes from).

This show is 25% actual content, 25% recap of said content after ad breaks, 25% adverts and 25% drama from Thomas and/or April.

I also wish we had 1.5 hr episodes every night like hr Australian series,it does feel very rushed with the UK version.

Arriving late to the party but it's taken me ages to read the whole thread! Totally agree Gemma has some issues! How is she not noticing when 'it's just her sense of humour' but everyone in the room physically recoils in horror and most cover their eyes/face in shame?! And agree if the roles were reversed there would be an outcry! I wonder if she keeps her 'sense of humour' in check when she's working in her salon/on the school run/at home with her kids?

That is a very good point about her language when working.

Duka must have some long term goals out of the show. He has gained nothing from the process so he must be hoping to gain pussy something else.
