MAFSUK7 I closed my eyes. Drew back the curtains. To see for certain … Adrian’s coupon. Far far away - someone was gobbing off.

New one for when the old one has filled up or when Thomas stops gobbing off.

whatever is quicker.

I'm going to guess the one who has definitely NOT had a girlfriend of 18 months is Thomas

Apart from that it could be any of them

I don't think anyone is safe here

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 17/09/2022 14:04

Did anyone else notice Sophie's vows were all about what SHE wants and what SHE needs. 'Guy Martin's' vows were all about what he had to give.

emilyjeff · 17/09/2022 14:07

Just caught up. Pleased that lara and ritchie left, really surprised that Kasia and kwame stayed, if she's the boss bitch she claims she'd have binned him right off after his comments.
Agree the facial tattoos look awful although he actually seems like quite a nice guy. She totally ruined it with her sexual comments, creepy, unneccessary and just showed that she has no class whatsoever.
Really don't like Sophie, she pretty much got what she asked for but still isn't happy! Agree her family are not as posh as they're making out to be, and no idea why they're dissing York it's a lovely place, I'd take York over Manchester tbh!
Do we think they now go on honeymoon and then just get invited to the next dinner party?

dillite · 17/09/2022 14:11

Yes, what is it about referring to York like some middle of nowhere, village type place? It's a pretty big city, has a University and is really bloody expensive.

We've not been told on the show that anyone was in a secret relationship. But this thread has revealed the secret relationship, plus stated that it gets revealed at the reunion (ie has spoiled the reunion show), plus stated who it was.

To be fair, that happens every series in MAFS UK AND MAFSA 🤣

SheldonesqueTheBstard · 17/09/2022 14:23

Aye. You are right. It does.

And it doesn’t get any less annoying.

Ah well.

Gemma’s sex comments had me picking my jaw up off the floor. Absolutely disgusting and in front of her MUM, grim. I still can’t believe it. One of the most uncomfortable things I’ve ever seen on tv.

No I meant there's always a secret affair in every series.

ColeslawSandwich · 17/09/2022 14:55

Did Gemma say something about “slipping off my chair” too?

IsABajan · 17/09/2022 14:58

@ColeslawSandwich yep I just saw that part on Gogglebox. She really is inappropriate and sex mad by the looks of things

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 17/09/2022 16:54

I'm just watching the One Year On catch up. Very telling how few participants took part isn't it?

ihatethecold · 17/09/2022 18:48

How did you watch that @MyGhastIsFlabbered ?

HappyPeach · 17/09/2022 19:23

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 17/09/2022 13:45

And I already know tattooed lady's sex drive is going to be the only thing that I'd mentioned between them...and they're not even married yet!

Sophie's family are horrible. Her dad saying her husband had to be fabulously wealthy. And the brother's grimace when Jonathan walked down the aisle was horrible

I noticed the grimace too & thought wtf was that all about? Jonathan was very smart in his suit. In what way did he disappoint through looks alone?

Prinnny · 17/09/2022 19:38

I think unless Poshies groom had a big fuck off rolex on show and an ostentatious designer suit on her family were always going to be unimpressed!

MelodyPondsMum · 17/09/2022 20:47

Sometimes I think the biggest thing couples have in common is that they think going on MAFS is a good idea. Realistically choosing to 'marry a stranger' and be on TV are quite good parameters. It rules out lots of people and the ones it rules in must have a similar approach to love, celebrity, the media regardless of their differences in other areas.
I did prefer it when it was less trashy, seemed to have 'real' experts and was much more like a serious experiment. iirc they even had a vicar/religious/spiritual expert in the old days.

Now it follows the Australian template which is designed to create drama not relationships.

I think it was worse than that. I heard 'dripping' 🤮

Me too. Then when I realised she has little ones that will want to watch Mummy on the TV...... grim.

PoseyFlump · 18/09/2022 08:07

Feel so sorry for Matt Tats. It's possible he genuinely came on the show in the hope his poorly mum could see him married and happy and Gemma's totally ruined that. The wedding would have been magical without her comments as they do seem well matched.

I also liked how Matt said rushing sex would be 'wasting the first time'. Like he thinks the first time should be special and built up to. Seems a good bloke so far.

PoseyFlump · 18/09/2022 08:10

I'd bet ten bob that Sophie's dad has secret shares in Sophie's tech company. She's shit at her job and he keeps demanding she has promotions.

MyGhastIsFlabbered · 18/09/2022 09:43

@ihatethecold

I was watching MAFS on all4 catch up and it just asked me if I wanted to watch it.

I still don't know what Sophie actually does or how you'd build a business out of whatever she does. Poor Guy Martin doesn't stand a chance - maybe I like him too much because of who he reminds me of.

Sophie's family are obviously nouveau riche - absolutely no class at all.

MelodyPondsMum · 18/09/2022 09:49

I don't get the hate for Sophie. She wasn't rude or mean to her groom. She was asking questions to see if they were compatible. She admitted he wasn't what she was expecting but seemed open to trying.
Although I do think it's funny that Sophie talks as though marriage and children are passing her by ... she's in her 20s Grin When I was her age, marriage and children were so far from my mind.

PoseyFlump · 18/09/2022 09:58

I don't hate Sophie and no she wasn't rude or mean. But her body language and facial expressions spoke volumes when he said he was a joiner and liked haribos.

Playplayaway · 18/09/2022 10:51

My friends dd is very similar to Sophie. A 30 year old high flyer whose career is everything. She's not really had any boyfriends as no one really comes up to her standards but she does complain about being alone and wanting a family. I've said that she should maybe find a man who is happy to take on more of a role with the home and children but she doesn't want that either. It's very difficult to two very career driven people to have a family. Kids get clingy and poorly and can have any number of issues that you can't throw money at. They need at least one parent who can easily take time off work to do the bulk of childcaring. A man who is willing to take that on is worth his weight in gold. And he can whip up a new kitchen or build a treehouse while he's at it 😀

She'll likely still be single at 40 and wonder how it all went wrong. Ah well good luck to her, maybe it will work out for her but it's doubtful.
