@stockpilingallthecheese glad it wasn't just me. It was absolute gold!! How the others held it together I don't know

QueSyrahSyrah · 25/07/2022 23:23

Does Luca even work for a living? Or just use his parents credit cards...

Does anyone remember Challenge Annika? Well I think they should remake it as Challenge Danica because she is perky, funny and has tried so hard in LI. Also she has a great bum for those running in tracksuit shots! 😁

He does indeed ... although not for too much longer unless he instructs his accountant to sort out the paperwork asap

Some googling also turned up that his uncle was jailed for fraud!

marmiteadict · 26/07/2022 04:33

As a born northerner with a northern family I can confirm Gemma is being neither mean or bitchy to Ekin (or anyone else.)

It is a true sign of affection to call each other out for even minor dramatic or extra behaviour.

A true hatred would result in extreme politeness 😳

autienotnaughty · 26/07/2022 06:21

Limited talent as usual, not sure why they do this other than something to watch during the boring last week. Better than lasted years though if I remember rightly. Indyah was trying to be Millie from last year. Ekin-su doing a Faye. The footballs looked ok, Paige and Gemma were surprisingly good. I wouldn't say danica danced more swayed!

Interesting! Not great news for Luca to come out too Confused

vroom321 · 26/07/2022 08:37

I cannot look at Paige any longer!!!

Orpheline · 26/07/2022 08:38

Promoting the family business, like Charlie Brake on another LI.

Twonewcats · 26/07/2022 09:14

After a week or two of falling behind with LI, I spent my day off catching up with them all. I wish I hadn't bothered. Each episode is so samey.

Luca is utterly vile. I used to think he was a decent lad, but the longer he's in there, the more comfortable he becomes, which is now just coming across as being cocky and arsey. Every single thing he says is a put-down; and he laughs at everyone else's expense and is then a total prick if anyone laughs at him, it's nauseating.

Even when they were talking about if Gemma is punching, that even became a put-down about Gemma. If Gemma had been involved in the chat, I could understand them having a laugh about it, but she wasn't even involved. He's so competitive. Any decent guy would have said they know they're punching.

The talent show baffled me. This was allegedly sprung on them, yet instantaneously the producers were able to rustle up a magician outfit, a sash for ES, matching clothes for G&P, a recorder and a 3D model of the villa 😵‍💫 And completely agree with pp, it was tedious and basically the same as last year's talent show.

I thought Tash was adorable. I think she's really sweet, but has been a bit caught up in who she wants to be rather than just being herself. I thought it was a bit off when Andrew said Tash is no singer 😬😖

AbsoluteShambles · 26/07/2022 09:21

This made me flinch. I mean, bloody hell, mate. That said, I do think he just didn’t think about what he was saying.

Thanks for this link. On the people tab it says that Luca's DOB is May 1999. Wouldn't that make him 23 rather than 26 which I believe is what he said?

vroom321 · 26/07/2022 09:45

What's the 1995 tattoo for then?

I voted for Paige and Adam, I can’t stand the vicious trolling on Twitter and IG who want her back with Jacques

Ugh, Ekin Su talking to Davide about some meat....boak....

Damiya love bombing in the hope it will carry them to the final....😂

All that convo about punching was just grim and then there's Luca who claims he isn't punching, I don't think anyone will be able to love Luca the way he loves himself 😂I do love Paige for not backing down.

Talent show...
Danica - is that dancing? What happened to ballet modern and tap 😂
I hate magicians full stop
Tasha - brave for a deaf girl to sing, love the cup song thingy but I wonder why she didn't dance, did producers say only one dancer? But then we had two rappy things...
Dami - nah mate...leave it....
Oh look at what Gemma can do when she hasn't got Luca hanging round her neck. I mean I didn't enjoy it but looked like she was having fun for once.
I can't even think of what to say for Indiya squatting and playing twinkle twinkle, go on love! I prefer people who aren't afraid to make a tit of themselves. Unless your name is Luca..cause that didn't endear me to him at all oddly enough...

I'm not even going to mention the lip filler top ups...oh shit...I just did....no-one needs fillers unless they've had some kind of accident/illness that has given them a disfigurement. I can't help thinking in years to come our NHS is going to be even more overrun with all the people (because blokes do too) poisoned by fillers and demanding to have their lopsided chops fixed because it's affecting their mental health 🙄

Entertainment contest maybe, but talent was in short supply imo Grin

Gemma - it was good to see her smiling and enjoying herself a bit, rather than sitting, dead pan, with Luca's arm strangling her
Paige and Gemma were entertaining enough, and they were both enthusiastic and enjoying it
Tasha - people saying why didn't she dance? I think she made a comment earlier in the show that she had an unseen/unknown talent, and I like that she did something other than what people expected.
Ekin-Su - just weird. Obviously didn't know what else to do.
Indiyah - very sweet and hilariously funny, wasn't afraid to make a tit of herself.
Danica - good mover, but not what I think of when people say 'dancing'
Andrew - boring, how can 'selling' a property be a talent? That model of the villa wasn't rustled up in a couple of hours, so it was all obviously pre-planned.
Dami - awful! Couldn't understand a word of what he was rapping.
Adam - good card trick, if not brilliantly executed.
Jamie - thought he would do 'keepy uppy' but he wasn't as good as I expected him to be for a professional footballer.
Davide - very cheeky but I too think he's wangling for a slot on a daytime TV show. Can see him and Gino would be fun together but not sure Gino's ego could take Davide.

Luca - let's not go there, he was awful and I can't understand how it didn't give Gemma the ick.

LuckyAmy1986 · 26/07/2022 10:41

I hope Danica wins. She annoys me but with all the effort she has put in to everything, she has earned that 50k!

BrevityofTime · 26/07/2022 11:04

I wonder whether they all put on weight on there. They seem to eat all the time and just lol about. Maybe youthful metabolism. I would be the size of a house by now.

When you say you are 'not punching' do you mean you think you are better looking than your other half (and so they are punching) or do you mean you think you are at the same level as them attractive wise?

I think the gentlemanly think is to claim you are punching even if you don't think you are. And to claim that you think all of the men are punching surely.

Luca clearly has a chip on his shoulder. He clearly thought they were the last 'safe' couple because they hadn't done any grand gestures. He has no concept of how he comes across.

I agree with Gemma, these dramatic gestures about being exclusive or boyfriend and girlfriend are so contrived and cringey. So uncool.

Yamyam13 · 26/07/2022 11:05

Just watched (ie forwarded) last night's show.
Wow. LAME.

Youcansaythatagainandagain · 26/07/2022 11:39

On one of ‘serious’ news stations who would rarely/never mention a tv programme like LI, on a show presented by the same man who does leadership debates on Irish tv, they did a fairly long piece about Tasha and how she is being bullied online about her hearing. They explained that without her cochlear implants, she wouldn’t hear a jumbo jet taking off beside her and how much she must have overcome in school with the help of teaching assistants, in the workplace and socially. It was very moving. They finished by saying that any shame belongs to those people who make fun of her.

And just to echo previous comments that it's weird no-one has mentioned it (or we haven't seen them to) since Tasha first told everyone. I know there would be times when I'd be thinking, and would ask her, how well she hears certain things, whether she relies more on vibration/beat at times, how is her lip reading, does she know sign language (I think she was 5 when she got the implant so how was life before). But perhaps the islanders just aren't interested in anyone else or their perspective....

I was pretty appalled both by Luca’s mocking Tasha and Andrew’s “She’s no singer” comment in last nights episode. Tactless and cruel. Luca just has it in for Tasha because she rebuffed him but I think Andrew simply forgets. It is easy to forget the challenges she faces because she just doesn’t make an issue of it. I was in awe of her talent show performance, incredible for somebody with that level of hearing impairment.

Probably either/or, but the tone Luca was using suggested he was appalled at Paige saying that he was punching - so I am pretty sure he meant it to mean Gemma is punching.
