Unfortunately I think it shows that the producers really haven’t thought about whether Jacques should have been in there. The screening process - if there is one - has failed. They didn’t see beyond his entertainment value as Gemma’s ex.

Somebody definitely stepped in there and calmed him down because he was ready to swing for Adam one minute and he certainly wasn’t listening to Paige or Billy telling him to cool it.

I found that a difficult watch tonight, Jacques needs help/support ...hope he gets that as he’s got issues the anger etc...wonder if he was advised to leave...

I honestly do think this was all the producers. They could see he was losing his shit and how he’s being portrayed to the general public. And with his family coming out that he’s got ADHD, it won’t look good on producers keeping him in and constantly testing their patience. I think that’s why he’s so gutted he’s leaving, because it’s NOT on his own accord.

It'll be interesting to see what Adam does now. Will he continue to crack on with Paige (or will Billy) or go elsewhere.

I think if Paige doesn't couple up with someone else quickly she'll end up leaving. His absence and the leaving declarations of girlfriend and (not) saying I love you will work to get those rose tinted absence glasses working well.

I really disliked him and his behaviour but I feel a bit dirty after watching that.
He very clearly was advised to go. He is going to have a hard time, being aggressive/being vulnerable/all the memes showing him in dirty pants. He needs to be back with his family and cushioned from the onslaught of media that’ll chase him. I hope they support him properly.
His behaviour was crap but I sincerely hope nothing bad happens, Love Island doesn’t have a great track record.

They asked him to leave. Didn't need to dedicate the whole show to him.
And in other shows we would hear him be warned.
The producers just want robots anyone with genuine emotions is too risky for them.

This programme plays with emotions and must be damaging for some ...not sure how healthy it is after seeing tonight’s episode

@icelollycraving good post. I agree with it all. I actually feel really guilty watching that tonight. Someone’s mental torment is our entertainment. I’m worried for him now, to be honest. I’ve been guilty of bad mouthing him and his behaviour but seeing him vulnerable tonight was hard. He didn’t fake that; it was raw emotion.
I think Paige will leave by Sunday. I hope he has his family and friends around him.

He would be a nightmare boyfriend. Short fuse does not equal good boyfriend material. One last controlling tactic by saying he wanted her to be his girlfriend. He is a dick.

I think he was possibly asked to leave. When he gathered everyone around the fire pit no one was particularly shocked by it. I wonder if something happened last night that’s not been shown. Either way, he definitely needed to go and I hope he manages to get the support he needs.

I think clearly the shows psych team got him to leave much like they did with Amy after Curtis dumped her

However we can accept he was struggling with his mental health whilst also acknowledging the awful behaviour he has demonstrated numerous times to people in villa. Just look at how he treated Billy tonight. Remember about 5 days ago he was getting aroused in the pool with Cheyenne and snogging her in bed. So any constructive criticism is very much deserved.

So Gemma got her wish and got rid of one lot of competition. She has also started turning on ES - she was bitching about her behind her back the day Adam came in, saying something about her always wanting to be no1. Whereas ES thinks Gemma is her bestie in there. Won’t be long before she starts on Indiyah once she realises Indiyah and Dami are popular

I found it really hard watching tonight and felt an element of guilt that I’m watching it. Also had thoughts back to Mike T. He’s a young lad and has some growing up to do but doesn’t make him the devil. I hope he chose to leave as it shows he realised he was struggling and did the right thing. I hope he now gets the support he needs.

Not guna lie I did have a couple of tears then. I really think he has genuine feelings and seemed broken by the whole experience. Yes he was a twat, like many men I encountered in my late teens early twenties were, is it toxic masculinity? Yes. Is he evil, gaslighting, manipulative? No I don’t think so. Immature, irrational and aggressive maybe. Give the lad a chance. Let’s not forget covid has massively stunted our youngsters experiences and growth.

Give credit to Paige she knew what to say at the right time. But she didn't go with Jaques , and she didn't even mention that

Reckon she will give it a go with Adam, but doubt it will work. And I don't think she and Jaques will work on the outside either

He was told to say all these things by the mental health team who have asked him to leave as they did with Amy a few years ago. It’s probably somewhat true and he agreed to what should be said, but the show is very heavily produced and this is the best possible storyline in him leaving. Everyone’s a winner - show gets a nice story and he gets to soften the media fallout of his behaviour.

Agree he’s been advised to leave. I also think there was more aggression to others than what we saw. I think they’ve not shown it to protect him.
The stuff about waiting for her and being at the airport is further control. He’s saying he wants her to do what she needs to do but then saying he wants her to be his girlfriend.
I think he needs some serious therapy and needs to change how he views women. A part of me feels sorry for him that it’s all played out so publicly for him.
Gemma’s stirring does not reflect well on her. She knew what she was doing.

I hadn't seen the news about Jacques before watching tonight, and when he got up in the middle of the night I was hoping that they'd have a counsellor talk to him because he really didn't look like he was coping. But now I wonder if he got pulled after the aggression towards Adam and Billy and warned and that was running through his mind. And then the next day the bosses have decided he's too risky and told him he needs to leave.

Tasha's an idiot. She clearly doesn't want to be with Andrew or Billy but is worried she'll be out if she's single.

Will they send in another girl and then re-couple on Thursday/Friday? As they need someone to be single to leave.
