Just been on to catch up on what I'd missed and the thread has gone?! Anyone have any idea why?

Davide really made me laugh with his refreshments for Jacques and ES. He’s funny when not being so serious and brooding

I thought he was being territorial - coming over to interrupt in a guise that's hard to object to. First sign that he's actually interested in her?

Ans I agree with Eddie - it's really rather annoying that MN's nightly outage coincides with the time this thread should be taking off after the show

No I think afias make up was that bad, it was the same the night before. I noticed it but it wasn’t as bad it’s like she’s not blended it in, how comes it’s not like that on any of the other girls? 🤣 it’s like fayes lipstick from last year

I quite like Gemma when she's talking to the girls, I think she's making an effort with them.

I don't think anyone has any chemistry with anyone in there. Need to chuck in a whole load more people and get rid faster. This lot don't have enough personality to pull off the setups with flare.

The show is a victim of its own success, the best series imo were when the show was more authentic and the people going in had no idea what they were going to come out to. They drank, smoked, slept together and it made for good viewing. Over the years as it's gotten to the level it has and the duty of care stepped up into things like 1 drink limits, one at a time off camera smoking combined with a cast going in knowing to behave a certain way for a best chance of a PLT deal it becomes very surface level with most people acting very polished. They aren't being themselves so they don't capture any one's hearts as much so people don't connect to the show. I don't really know if it can go back to what it is was, even the ones who are going in there and being loud and out there and forward aren't doing so authentically, they're doing it because that's their angle.

Series 1-3 were the best for me, series 4-5 had changed but were still very watchable but since then it's been downhill.

Tasha cooled it off with Andrew when there was no risk of being dumped, then clung to him when the new girls appeared and is now stepping back again. Whether that's because she can't maintain the façade or not, she's definitely not into him.

I also think Gemma is too young- although she doesn't come across as exceptionally immature ?

She's so ... aloof, it's as if with the girls she can be relaxed , chatty , normal

But as soon as it comes down to a boy - she puts on this superior front - as if he is honoured to be speaking to her ? She is the prize and he must fight to win her ?
The awkwardness and lack of eye contact shows that she's not relaxed , not into it , going through a motion

Luca ? He can do one , get him out , even the boys are seeing he's not a great guy

It's still early days so they are all shuffling round , I just hope it's gets a bit more natural , interesting , juicy with some real connections . Otherwise I think it may have run it's course

Yeah I missed what happened between Gemma and Luca too, came to ask on here and it was down. No wonder this thread isn't moving as fast when Mumsnet goes down for half the episode every night!

I think Gemma feels awkward and out of her depth and that’s why she comes across so strange, also I bet she’s been briefed by daddy on what she is and isn’t allowed to do, so I think that’s why she cringes and swerves any come on from the boys. I read an interview that Michael had said he was fuming cos she said ‘shit’ and she’s not allowed to swear so I doubt he’s approved any necking on!

I thought Davide was quite funny last night but I think he’s quite similar to Gemma in that he also thinks he’s too good for anyone in there! ES and Jacques are a better match, a desperado and player. Bring on the newbies we need to switch this up asap!

I think what happened between Gemma and Luca was that she started on one of her well-worn diatribes and in response he jokingly made a pretend snoring noise, at which she took offence.

As soon as Gemma 'won' Davide she soon lost interest. Perhaps she's all about the conquest. Seems to be very image aware, so she's being ultra wary of putting a foot wrong. Likes to be seen as unattainable.

I don't think any of the couples belong together, chemistry-wise. Amber hardly looks at Dami even when chatting. Tasha was initially like a kid in a sweet shop but then it hit her that when you're in a couple on LI you can't just go around flirting and getting admired all the time [well, you can, but see how people regard Ekin Su for doing just that]. So she's struggling with that. I like both Ikenna and Indiyah but again, no chemistry.

Paige reminds me, personality-wise, of Amy who was famously dumped for Maura by Curtis. Really nice girl but more suited to a steady type of bloke rather than the type of guy that goes on LI.

@Prinnny i completely agree with you. I think she’s been coached by her family on what is acceptable behaviour for the public to see from her. That’s a lot of added pressure to put on a teenager and kind of begs the question what is the point on going on the show in the first place. 🤷‍♀️

Tasha is doing my head in! Poor Andrew can't do right from wrong. She tells him to cool it and back off but gets offended by him saying he doesn't care about her chats because he trusts her.

She's just really not into him but doesn't want to be single so is flip flopping and toying with him. It's a nasty tactic.

I agree with you but I think Luca and Amber were stirring here and making it more of an issue than it needed to be.

Yes I also agree Tasha is getting a bit annoying but I couldn't understand why Luca and Amber were stirring so much, total overreaction from them.

Gemma is so young to be in there. There is so much potential drama going on that she could be blowing up, but fair play to her she is not blowing smoke anywhere. She isn’t being queen bee in there at all. She seems a bit out of her depth - suspects she really fancies Luca but doesn’t know what to do with it!

I really don't like how Luca is with Gemma, a lot of what he does looks close to 'grabbing'. A Gypsy tradition of physically dragging a girl and getting her to kiss you

He tried to trick her from a cheek kiss to a lip kiss and she seemed very uncomfortable

I think Davide knows his days with Ekin-Su are numbered and he may be left single/dumped. She has actually really grown on me.

Ekin-Su makes me laugh. She’s very much like Toby from last year although a year down the line him and Chloe are still together. But she brings the same chaotic energy.

Just seen first look. I like Luca but he can't be getting possessive otherwise Gemma is going to drop like a stone. Whilst they seem better suited than Gemma and Davide she still looks uncomfortable with how tactile he is sometimes.

The new arrivals look interesting - Ekin-Su is definitely doing a Molly Mae, as in, "he's so my type" with every single new guy in the villa - but then again, a bit of drama will be good!
