He embarrassed her while in the villa
and now he spends an inordinate amount of time slagging her off at every given opportunity. He is absolutely disgusting and I hope people stop giving him work. Loathsome creature

It was on an Insta Live chat. The boys in question were talking about bombshells and when Rachel's name come up, I understand there were negative comments. Sharon was involved too. I didn't see it but Kaz and Rachel called them out on it.

I don’t agree with the ‘race issue’ I think people look for issues that aren’t there, if you have a type you have a type, one of my white girlfriends type is black men, does that make her racist? Let’s just enjoy the trashy tv and not try turn it into anything else.

If people of colour want to talk about the fact that racism is still a problem on Love Island (and everywhere). Who are you to speak over them like this?

@Prinnny - Have you watched the previous years? It is impossible to say that their isn’t an issue. Every year there seems to be one beautiful black girl who none of the men are interested in, to the point where it seems like she is invisible to all of the men.

Your friend acknowledges that she sees black men as her “type”. With love island though it really seems that no men are ever in there who have black women as a “type” and will overlook them straight away (and this seems to have been the case, in previous years, with the preference of the black men in there too.)

Why is this? Surely the researchers put some effort into finding out the “type” of all contestants.

@LuckySantangelo35 just incase you didn't see this Zampa has summarised. The livechat seemed to pop up negative comments about Rachel and the lads just laughed, when they could have done the decent thing and dismissed the comments. I hope they get pied by every girl they meet from now on.

@MondaysChild7 I’m not speaking over anyone but this a light hearted tv thread that doesn’t need to be dominated in this way, if you want to discuss race inequality in reality tv maybe create a specific thread?

@WigglyWombat I do indeed watch every year, there’s been many interracial couples over the years but I’d imagine it’s difficult to gauge who will like who as attraction is so variable and fleeting.

The race divide is the worst its ever I think? Especially as the black girls got coupled up with the black boys by the public?!

Of course there is a race issue and it’s very uncomfortable to watch sometimes, I remember the year with kaz when they kept bringing in guys who weren’t interested in her but would pretend to be to get on but would only ever describe her as “good energy” but all the other girls “hot , sexy, stunning” but kaz was “fun and good energy/vibe” you would think they could at least try to bring in guys who weren’t just attracted to white girls.

@mout I'm saying I want to watch trashy tv and talk about X Y Z without it becoming about the colour of their skin. Maybe she doesn’t like his dress sense, maybe he doesn’t like her piercings, it doesn’t have to be that deep.

I suppose for the producers it’s hard to gauge who’s genuine or not as I’m sure people would say they’re attracted to everyone and everything if it means they get to go in!
