A number of people here are saying that because the "white boys" don't appear to fancy the "black girls" on the show and also that the public vote went with that as well that this is evidence that the UK is incredibly racist.

I would disagree. Or, if it is true, then it must be admitted that the whole UK feels like this. Including the predominantly younger, female audience that votes on the Love Island app as this is the demographic that would have voted.

According to the ONS, if you look at ethnicity within marriage or cohabiting couples then white people do overwhelmingly live with (and presumably are attracted to) other white people.

Also, other groups (for example those from South Asia) are even more likely to marry within their own ethnicity.

From the ONS, proportion of marriages/cohabiting by ethnicity where one person is white: -

white/white 95.8%
white/mixed 1.9%
white/Asian 1.5%
white/black 0.8%
