Anybody watching the Midwich Cuckoos on sky?

It was one of my favourite Wyndham books, I've watched the first 2 episodes and it seems good so far

Loved this but can’t remember the book. I don’t think it was so open ended. May have to reread it.

However my favourite book at school was The Chrysalids. I’d love them to adapt that.

I agree about the kids' hair. What is with that? It really puts me off the story.

Ok, so why did the cuckoo kids do that to the little boy when he saw them at the school? What was in the school that he saw?

Also when the cuckoo boy told the main guy to get underground because they were going to wipe their memories why did he phone the couple to warn them and not his own SIL?

I'm sure there were many more questions but I can't remember now.

I did wonder if main guy wasn't that keen on his SIL and it was a way of getting out of it.

My question was how did Doctor realize that one child had survived the first time around and become the leader of the second lot, where did she see or read that.

Yes I don't think main guy was too keen on his sister-in-law either.

The ending was a bit strange though because now it means one child has again survived so even though he didn't want to be part of the cukoos he's still one of them.

I was wondering that as well Jemima, I don't know what he saw.

He did try to ring his SIL you could see her phone ringing with his name coming up on phone screen. But she was being guarded by the soldiers who I think had been taken over by the kids at that stage. She didn't want to answer it I presume to protect him.

I watched the 1960s movie after and there is a little boy in it who is a bit like the Nathan character who seems to feel some empathy with the humans and not just 100% the hive mind. So I like how they brought that over to the new series. And how Hannah seemed to soften a bit because of her little sister and that saved her parents

Just finished the last episode last night. Dr Zellenby knew that the older guy was one of the original Russian cuckoo's because she saw his eyes light up the same as the children's did when she was hiding in the school basement.

I can’t remember the book but does the Sam West character feature? And is he a cuckoo? Anyone know?

I hope they make The Chrysalids one day. Don’t know how they would though. My favourite book at school.
