I never watched this show first time around but I remember all the hype surrounding it. I've started watching it and currently half way through season one. Its really addictive in a crap tv way. Did anyone watch it/watching it now?

What's your thoughts on the housewives of Wisteria Lane?

I'm watching it now, currently on season 6. I watched them all when they originally came out, but I've forgotten alot of the storylines, however my husband glances over every now and again and remembers what happens 🙈 I love it though, its am easy watch when I just need to chill out

MrsEthelMorningtonCrescent · 31/05/2022 01:43

Didn't miss an episode, weekly, first time it was on in the UK. My life had a more regular structure to it then and there were fewer channels (at least that I could afford). I really enjoyed it and wouldn't have called it 'crap TV' although obviously it's not high art either. Favourite character was Felicity Huffman's. I may or may not give it another watch at some point.

Noglassjustthebottleandastraw I don't want to give anything away so I'll just say the content was a lot darker than other story lines and I didn't like the direction it went in still had plenty of humour in it but I didn't enjoy it as much.

Theoldwoman · 31/05/2022 15:38

I didn’t watch it the first time either OP but currently watching it now and loving it so much. I’m half way through Season Two, so plenty still ahead.

I really like it still. It goes off (quality-wise) after about series five in my view, although it's still worth watching right to the end.

Sidebar: I've met Teri Hatcher in real life (through work) she's nice, very cool and I liked working with her a lot.

Cas112 · 31/05/2022 16:55

Awww I love it and wish I could watch it again as if I've never watched it before

ToyahBattersby · 31/05/2022 20:55

Loved it when it was on originally - the houses were beautiful, and the characters relatable. My favourite was Bree

JacquelineCarlyle · 31/05/2022 21:14

I loved it too. Also agree with the pp who recommended Devious Maids and Why Women Kill - both great Marc Cherry shows in the ilk of DH.

ChessieFL · 02/06/2022 07:15

Another Housewives fan here! I didn’t like Devious Maids though, didn’t even make it through the first episode.

Gabby was my favourite although I liked them all.

Blondeshavemorefun · 02/06/2022 07:49

Devious maids was fab. Always thought would have been another series of it

rhey could if wanted to

User135792468 · 02/06/2022 07:58

Oh it’s amazing!!! Definitely watch it if you can! I wish I could go back and re watch it without knowing what would happen 😁

Noglassjustthebottleandastraw · 06/06/2022 23:42

So we are now a good few episodes into series two. Oh my days!!!! The drama!!!
My thoughts on the ladies of the street.

Bree - such a classy strong brave woman.

Gabby - all that glitters isn't gold..... my heart goes out to her.

Susan - hope she gets rid of Mike the manipulative gas lighter.

Lynette - is driving me mad, why oh why does she always have to poke her nose into other people's business. Poor Tom hes so lovely I feel sorry for him.

Still really enjoying watching and love how each little story ties into the bigger stories. The writing is fantastic.

Really lovely to read a positive story about Teri and glad she's lovely in real life.

@MrsEthelMorningtonCrescent I definitely retract my crap tv comment. I love the balance of how they portray such sensitive and deep issues.

It's been a while since I've seen it but I don't remember Mike gaslighting.

ChessieFL · 07/06/2022 06:43

He was definitely hiding secrets in the early series.

beachcitygirl · 07/06/2022 07:59

I absolutely loved it but it really annoyed me latterly when they "forgot" about characters with no explanation. Bree's son was a major character? Bought a house on the land & then just nowhere, even at her worst moment ? That's also the moment that I grew to hate susan & Lynette

Desperatelyseek · 09/06/2022 13:28

I'm currently rewatching whilst on maternity leave. I absolutely loved it when it first came out. I love love love the houses.

Newsenmum · 21/07/2025 21:43

Anyone else rewatching?

It’s such great show, although I dont get the Tom love. He’s awful!

chattyness · 21/07/2025 21:50

I loved it and devious maids, must rewatch both again soon
