Agree with @MrsTerryPratchett, in lieu of endless sexy, chemistry fuelled illicit affairs in my own life I can't get enough of a well written momentum-gaining romance between characters who really REALLY fancy each other. Significant eye contact, stolen brief physical contact and intense feelings make good viewing with a glass of wine of an evening.

I don't dislike him but I've never understood the attraction personally. Definitely not a 'sexy priest' in my opinion!

Same. I don't see the appeal at all.

I also don't think he's that great an actor. I can always 'see' him acting, if that makes any sense.

Andrew Scott has been in so many parts - scroll down for a list

'The first episode of the second series is one of the most brilliant TV episodes ever in my humble opinion.' Yes, I agree. Loved that episode.

Didn't like the priest - thought he was creepy.

Otherwise great series.

Just to add - Olivia Coleman's character was a masterpiece. I have always rated her, but she really showed her acting chops for this role. So hilariously funny but also reminiscent of horrible people. Brilliant.

Agree - she's just glorious. Brilliant character, brilliant performance

oh dear. Not my people.

Found Fleabag just plain annoying and couldn’t get beyond the second episode and I really can’t stand Olivia Coleman. She’s always the same character in every part she plays and ruins every good series she’s in, for me. 🙁

When people say this, I always want to beg them to stick with it, because you learn so much more about the character and her hedonistic, brittle ways start to make much more sense. That said, there are tons of TV shows to watch so I understand why you feel you don't want to waste your time!

Everything I Know About Love on BBC, based on Dolly Alderton's book is so charming. Loved it

I agree with you about Olivia Colman in general. Totally overrated actress who as you say is always the same character in everything. She was terrible in 'The Crown' and seems to get roles just because she's Olivia Colman.

However, I quite liked her in 'Fleabag', despite not loving the series as much as others. I think it was one of the rare occasions she played a character different to her usual slightly frumpy aunt act.

The Other One is funny.

I liked this too, also the cleaner was quite good, Greg Davies as a crime scene cleaner.

Featuredcreature · 22/06/2022 15:37

I see that the chemistry between the priest and fleabag was supposed to be intense, but just didn't hit the mark for me, cringy. It's odd because I usually do fancy short gay men (Brian molko hmm, although no idea how he identifies these days, used to be bisexual)

😂
Different era but similar vibe In Pursuit of Love. Also has Andrew Scott. Absolutely stunning.

I agree with in pursuit of love. I love his clothes!

I forgot that he was in James Bond… Spectre I think, or Quantum. Can’t remember.

I like him in The subtle knife too.. can’t remember the tv series name. He’s a shaman.

Some good aussie series out there with a similar theme… the let down. Working mums

Love Andrew Scott, he’s amazing. He was in Sherlock as Moriarty and he also did this utterly amazing one man theatre production called Seawall - first few minutes here and there’s a link to buy in the description

Seawall is INCREDIBLE. I was lucky enough to see it live a couple of times and he was just breathtaking. He was an interesting Hamlet too.

Welcome, it's never too late Smile

CornedBeef451 · 22/06/2022 21:50

I'm trying again with Fleabag but the priest isn't bin it until the second season!

I am fast forwarding through some bits but I like the sections with her sister.
