I've just remembered the terrible Rome final last year with Iga and Pliskova- she won that one 6-0 6-0, and Karolina didn't seem to turn up to the court in the match at all. It was a very awkward match to watch.

I agree it looks like Iga might become the one to beat- now Ash has gone. Clay is probably her best surface - so winning the Sunshine Double on hard courts first, has got to be a big sign to her opponents.

It's hard to know what is going on with Naomi. She always looks like she is putting herself through something she really isn't happy with. She was in a bad way in IW, so reaching a final has to be positive, but I don't get the feeling she is enjoying herself out there.

Petch calls her The Pulveriser not very flattering is it?

It would be great to have a consistent women's champion. It's so changeable these days.

And I agree, that the women's game is very changeable- it's the total opposite of the men's, where the big 3 have dominated so much.

I remember seeing that in the past 5 years, there have been over a dozen different slam winners in the women's game.
In the same time period, there have been 5 male slam champions.

Fizzy it really is hard not to compare them- everything about him, his age, his talent, even his demeanor.
