Just watched Emma’s match - bit of an odd one! She won the first set 6-0, lost the second set 2-6 then won the third 6-1 so all a bit unbalanced. As a reward she gets to face Swiatek tomorrow! Don’t fancy Emma’s chances I’m afraid, Swiatek is playing really well lately and has much more experience on clay. Great opportunity for Emma though.

Evening all. After 2 stressful days away in Wales at a funeral, I have been doing some catching up.
Shame Djok didnt lose yesterday (which looked very close) or even today.

I also agree Wimbledon are wrong in their decision to ban Russian/Belarusian players. It is such a difficult situation- I don't think individuals should be penalised for political decisions/atrocities caused by governments (unless the players themselves openly declare unsafe political views- and so far, all have comdemned the war).

For the Russian players, denouncing a regime that could potentially cause your family to 'disappear' (not unheard of in Russia, really) it is not that easy - and I'm surprised by Wimbledon's stance. The ATP/WTA are against it.
