Anyone watching? I know it's never been quite the same since James Norton left but it's nice easy Friday night viewing. And Will got a bit raunchy tonight!

Just me watching then! Grin

I'm here. Not watched it yet but I don't find it easy to watch at all. They are both so selfish as characters and that for me overrides/spoils the story of the week. Will always gets raunchy and if he put half as much effort into his parish duties I would be happier. I will watch it but with gritted teeth at times!

Jojoanna · 12/03/2022 18:48

I really enjoy Grantchester

Elderflower14 · 12/03/2022 20:52

I watched and enjoyed...
Wonder if Cathy will find someone else?

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 12/03/2022 21:49

Watching on catch up. I really enjoy this but worry about it turning 'cosy' which doesn't do it for me.

ImJustMadAboutSaffron · 12/03/2022 22:04

Appalling sexism from the new boss at the station clicking his fingers at the secretary and saying "Coffee". Bad form even in 1959. She's not a border collie.

NellePorter · 13/03/2022 08:05

We watched it!

Roystonv · 13/03/2022 16:37

Noted the secretary was hiding her missing hand; do you think that was just accidental. Always pleased to see her doing an efficient job and being taken seriously/respected.

Roystonv · 13/03/2022 16:37

Meaning in such a man's world

I wouldn't treat my collies like that Shock

I like Grantchester but it's bloody daft really. Will really needs to learn to keep his trousers on!

Curlywurlyontoast · 13/03/2022 20:53

I love Leonard but not sure his poetry cafe is going to take off 😂

Should have set it a few years earlier when Ted Hughes and Sylvia Plath were around
MurderAtTheBeautyPageant · 18/03/2022 21:09

I find it hilarious we're supposed to buy this vicar as being some kind of smouldering lothario. He's about as sexy as Cliff Richard.

James Norton, yes. This guy - NAH. Grin

Clawdy · 18/03/2022 22:25

Yes, he's basically a rather wholesome boy, isn't he!

What happened between Geordie and his wife? He appears to have left her, but I can’t recall.

Madeintowerhamlets · 19/03/2022 22:55

Yes I feel like I’ve missed something with Geordie & his wife too. I think maybe I missed the last episode of series 6. But also it feels as though they’ve missed out a whole chunk of story between Will & Maya. I don’t get how he can already be saying he loves her?! They’ve only just met! I really miss James Norton, those first few series were in another league. I’ve nothing against Will but the character of Sydney felt more genuine in terms of him being a tortured vicar & it feels like they are trying to replicate the same thing with Will but it feels inauthentic. I’m hoping Charlotte Ritchie will add something though.

Clawdy · 20/03/2022 08:51

I didn't recognise Charlotte Ritchie at first! That curly blonde hair. Something bound to happen with her and Will.

diddl · 20/03/2022 11:05

I've just started series 6.

Presumably the holiday camp guy will blackmail Leonard?

I find it daft that he could just walk in on them.

And the fact that they went away together & didn't have a place each.

Or maybe they did & I missed it?

ChoccyJules · 22/03/2022 09:33

I agree about Will and Maya, it was so fast, more of a fling than love, he’s behaving like a teenager. Also he never worries about the vicar aspect at all. I think they are forgetting how he would be expected to act.

Bonnie is presumably also being lined up as a love interest, although maybe it will be a buddy thing.

I also couldn’t remember how Geordie got to be living at the vicarage, I can’t recall if Cathy kicked him out?

Cathy chucked him out when he got pissed and made a fool of himself at an event last season.
ChoccyJules · 24/03/2022 15:51

Oh yes, thanks, that rings a bell

MissMarpleRocks · 25/03/2022 19:02

Finding that it’s lost it’s charm for me. Used to look forward to it in a Death in Paradise sort of way. Now not so much or at all really.

Clawdy · 25/03/2022 22:49

Tonight's was rather different and quite thought provoking. Pretty sure Will is heading for a relationship with Barbara from CTM, though.

I thought Geordie had some sort of dalliance with a work colleague and his wife found out and kicked him out 🤷🏻‍♀️

We call it 'soapy' but I agree
