Oh dear. That was pretty poor. But what is more irritating is the constant warnings of 'offensive language' after the ad breaks. I mean a) it's after the 'watershed' and b) maybe I don't find the language offensive. (It would be better to warn us the plot is offensively badly written).

the80sweregreat · 04/03/2022 22:11

Kate should have told the truth really and made Lucy face the music , but I know that would have been so hard.
I didn't hate it, but I'm glad it's over and i hope they never all go on holiday ever again.

Ginger1982 · 04/03/2022 22:12

FFS...is that how the book ends?

Papergirl1968 · 04/03/2022 22:14

So Izzy was arguing with Jenny on the edge of the ravine because of what Lucy had confided in her about the blow job video and running the lad over?

the80sweregreat · 04/03/2022 22:43

None of it made any sense at all did it ? Terrible plot and a bit confusing in places.

Bellagio40 · 05/03/2022 00:49

What a disappointment

cutebutscary · 05/03/2022 01:08

Well there's five hours of my life I'll not get back. Me and the hubby spent most of the time wondering what the hell was going on . The friendships were weird, disjointed and made no sense whatsoever . Disappointed to say the least

cobblers123 · 05/03/2022 08:51

That was an absolute pile of shite!

The Holiday has got to be one of the worst dramas I've ever watched.

ilovebrie8 · 05/03/2022 09:06

Another shit show ...rubbish all round. Look good the trailers but an utter disappointment!

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/03/2022 09:42

Finished.

I actually liked the ending

Kept us guessing. Wasn’t an affair

Someone said it was a cover up and couldn’t tell kate as a copper

Well done

But yes Lucy should have told the truth

She was in the car with Jake and taken the consequences

She wasn’t driving

Guessing kate and Sean’s marriage won’t survive this

And the 7 well now 6 of adults won’t ever go on holiday again

I’m on the third one … have you ever met such a miserable bunch of people … what a “holiday”

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/03/2022 11:01

They didn’t like Jake due to his behaviour

Which was coz of what he did for lucy

Ugh - what a despicable bunch of self-centred, spineless characters. Even the cop was bent.

On top of that, I thought it was poorly written, poorly cast and, for the most part, poorly acted. No chemistry whatsoever between the actors, totally unbelievable marriages and one-dimensional characterisation. A total dud.

Papergirl1968 · 05/03/2022 11:52

I do think Jill Halfpenny looked amazing in it. And I did find Sean kind of attractive. But then I'm a sucker for an Irish accent.
Still couldn't tell the identikit blondes or their grey haired husbands apart by the end of the last episode.

RJnomore1 · 05/03/2022 12:02

Jeez what an all round miserable programme

I’ve remembered listening to the book on audible now and feeling the same.

Does anyone remember another series that started with a family on holiday, around a hotel pool, and she finds a text on his phone ? They’re on loungers …I can remember suddenly that scene as clear as day but nothing else…

BigSandyBalls2015 · 05/03/2022 12:43

Utter bollocks. What a waste of a morning .. could have cleaned the loo or the fridge 🤷🏼‍♀️

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/03/2022 13:54

Am I the only one who enjoyed ending

Just caught up with last night's. Am at a loss for words, apart from I keep watching the Ch 5 dramas, in the hope that the next one will be good Grin

TheAbbotOfUnreason · 05/03/2022 14:36

I like the way that it turned out not to be an affair, but it all seemed a bit contrived. Plus all the characters were thoroughly unlikeable, with the possible exception of Izzy.

youngestisapsycho · 05/03/2022 14:38

I enjoyed it. And I knew who everyone was, they all looked quite different!

middlingnot · 05/03/2022 18:13

I thought the first three episodes weren't great but stuck with it and the last two were much more gripping. All a bit convoluted and generally unsympathetic characters, improbable situation and dialogue. Normally I'd be envious of a holiday at a nice villa in Malta but crikey that group of 'friends' weren't great together were they?

RAOK · 05/03/2022 19:13

The best thing about this thread is that most of the speculation is better than what actually does happen!

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/03/2022 19:24

This is true

I couldn’t work out who the affair was

And wasn’t one 🙀😂

In didn’t mind the ending in itself. I liked the way the demonstrated that Jenny and Kate had the same instinct to protect their kids.

I didn’t like the way it made the previous 3 episodes pretty pointless. And really would you still have gone on holiday together and pretended it never happened.
