It is good but quite odd as the casting is strangely similar to the film version, ie they all look and sound very alike.

Marianne is Rapunzel now on BBC1

SueBaroo · 10/01/2008 21:34

Moi? Vulgar? I am dainty and unspoiled. [lies]

onebatmother · 10/01/2008 21:39

MrsCarrot you're not verylittlecarrot from BF thread are you? I can't switch to BBC, DP is watching strange supernatural thing with attractive women in it.

Sue, no, you misunderstand me. Where is the vulgar un-classy thread you mention? Where? I need vulgarity NOW.
(is it the how many times a week thread?)

MrsCarrot · 10/01/2008 21:41

No, I am not verylittlecarrot, though we have conversed on a breastfeeding thread recently. I have never seen any other carrots on here before.

policywonk · 10/01/2008 21:43

disturbing

My SIL is called Sophy.

onebatmother · 10/01/2008 21:45

Gosh, wombling, I don't think there are anythinng like 41 in m's set.

And also not sure who mentioned GH war novels but I'd no idea they existed, so don't think they're represented in my clearly wishful thinking full set.

Still quite a few though.

I'd love to know her biog btw. Do you want to start new thread in Adult fiction? Are we pissing people off with GH on JA thread? CAPPU "CHORIZO" CCINO, for example????

New thread could very er.. slim though. At the mo it's MN or books for me..

onebatmother · 10/01/2008 21:47

Swedes if you check this before slipping between your lavender-water-ironed sheets, just post the web address for the Julie B image, don't link it iyswim.

onebatmother · 10/01/2008 21:51

Pol, is this the sue we know and love? Should we do an intervention?

SueBaroo · 10/01/2008 21:58

This is SueB having a flipping awful week and acting inappropriately. I shall go to bed in a minute with a copy of something high-brow.

policywonk · 10/01/2008 21:59

yeah RIGHT

Sorry you're having a bad week. I'm having a tooth out tomorrow then spending the weekend with my outlaws, if that makes you feel any better.

policywonk · 10/01/2008 22:00

lol at 'intervention'

Dunno about you OBM but I definitely haven't got the balls to intervene with Sue in any way

SueBaroo · 10/01/2008 22:03

Oh, you poor thing PW. nah, I'm just having one of those moments of watching my wider family eat themselves and being forced to watch. Sort of like Lizzie Bennett.

[lame attempt to be relevant to the thread]

JackieNo · 10/01/2008 22:05

Since we're digressing a bit, did anyone else read the Angelique books? I haven't read them since I was about 14, but remember them being a touch racy, and v engrossing. Might have to re-read, and also re-read Georgette Heyer, which I read at about the same time. A visit to the library is on the cards, I think.

onebatmother · 10/01/2008 22:24

Sue/Lizzie. REally sorry you're having crap time. V bad? Go and have one last look at my question before highbrow bedtime?
Pol. With luck you are having all your crap for 2008 in first month? Poor you, I hate teeth things more than I can say. Once didn't go to dentist for 12 years.

onebatmother · 10/01/2008 22:26

JN I always thought Angelique was actual soft porn rather than 'adaptable to soft porn purposes with good imagination and a prevailing wind' - am i wrong?

JackieNo · 10/01/2008 22:28

Gosh - I don't really remember them that well. Just remember enjoying them. But they did teach me all I know about French history. (Mind you, I did also go through a phase of reading Barbara Cartlands, so I'm obviously not that discriminating. I was about 12 at the time, in my defence.)

Cappuccino · 11/01/2008 09:50

soft porn

onebatmother · 11/01/2008 11:53

dashing man trips over his loosened laces, falls on top of Cappy
Stop dashing about with loosened laces, man, you have crushed Cappy's ribs!

onebatmother · 11/01/2008 12:06

I see Swedes has dropped us like a hot potato since she was crowned Queen of Quote..

Cappuccino · 11/01/2008 12:41

it would take a man of strength to crush my ribs

I have big ribs

Swedes · 11/01/2008 12:53

OBM - Just putting the finishing touches to my round-robin.
btw - Where does it show the quote of the week? I am still waiting for Eamonn Andrews to jump out of the wardrobe.

onebatmother · 11/01/2008 13:22

Swedes
"..however, the air of hilarity was not to last chez nous - the world epaulette shortage hit us very hard, I'm afraid."

Swedes · 11/01/2008 13:39
