Watching. Why have they put the stone cages like they have along side motorways on the smaller project????

Rummikub · 04/02/2022 20:50

Damn it missed it

MichaelAndEagle · 04/02/2022 20:52

£32k for the garden Shock

yamadori · 04/02/2022 21:03

As soon as someone said that beautiful flowering apple tree would have to go I switched off. It was about the only thing worth keeping.

Philistines.

I did a garden design course at college some years ago and it pains me to watch these programmes sometimes.

MichaelAndEagle · 04/02/2022 21:20

The plan was to keep it and move it in the design she chose, but I haven't seen the reveal yet.
I think she just really wanted to get rid of anything her ex husband liked!!!

I thought it looked more like an outdoor cafe than a garden in the end. But perhaps that suits her yoga class idea

MichaelAndEagle · 04/02/2022 22:08

It was ok. But I thought it was alright before really! I usually do!

I liked the caravan garden revamp.

I wouldn't have chosen Pips's design - I thought the way outdoor lighting was used in the other was lovely. Does anyone know what those huge white globular flowers were, in the professional yoga/hippy garden they visited? sort of hydrangea? I'll have to watch again and freeze the screen!

Didiusfalco · 04/02/2022 22:15

I didn’t like it much, but I really like plants and gardens and this was basically hard landscaping.

Didiusfalco · 04/02/2022 22:17

@LadyAddle I think maybe hydrangea Annabelle?

YummyBelicious · 04/02/2022 22:18

Looked like a preschool on the end. I like gardens to have, you know, plants?

LadyAddle · 04/02/2022 22:51

@Didiusfalco Thank you very much - I've looked on RHS and I'm sure you're right. They did look spectacular en masse, I wish I had a bigger garden.

ConstancetheGardener · 04/02/2022 23:57

Thought the transformation was a bit meh . The base they used for planning the gardens was at Sculpture by the Lakes near Dorchester , if anyone is down this way it's really worth a visit , the sculptures fitted around the lakes are beautiful. I liked the caravan garden , gabions are having a bit of a moment aren't they.

SardineJam · 06/02/2022 11:14

The caravan garden transformation was so much better than the £32k transformation. Just thinking about re-sellability, who on earth would want a garden with pink and blue striped flooring. Was very disappointing

Kizty · 06/02/2022 13:36

The budget gardens are often better for some reason. The big budget gardens tend to be a disappointment

MichaelAndEagle · 06/02/2022 15:35

Agree. And more relatable, I mean who has 30k to spend on a garden??

braggingaboutbrasize · 06/02/2022 16:07

I'm probably being naive but I don't understand why it cost so much. £32?! Also disappointed that it never seems to be about the plants

SwedishEdith · 06/02/2022 16:11

Oh, yes, the cheaper makeover was so much more effective. I couldn't believe anyone would spend £32k to make it look like a youth club. Seriously, it just needed some rethinking about the wobbly flagstones and painting the outbuildings. That apple tree Sad

Kizty · 06/02/2022 17:14

Is it because they pay the designer for their design do you think?

billysboy · 06/02/2022 17:20

about £10k materials max probably more like £5k so someone has done ok out of it !
