oh no when was it on?

FunkyGlassSlipper · 27/12/2007 22:29

Very impressed with it!

SlartyBartFast · 27/12/2007 22:31

(sad) dh wanted to watch The Queen

noddyholder · 27/12/2007 22:35

genius and thought provoking

wotz · 27/12/2007 22:35

Loved it, briiliant especially Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant's spin on BB and reality shows. Marvellous.

Ashley Jensen - Maggie's character is great.

smugmumofboys · 27/12/2007 22:37

Loved it. Actually shed a wee tear at Andy's speech in the house.

ItsPotatoesForYouMyLad · 27/12/2007 22:48

wow, so am i alone in thinking it was not his best work then? yes we lol for first 15 mins or so, but then it just turned all 'thought-provoking' and sad - except on the subject of celebrity, which has been done to death already hasn't it? we were quite disappointed actually.

wotz · 27/12/2007 22:53

"you 'aving a laugh?' myLad
I think that is the point, not to be lol every 5 minutes and not to be something shallow like "When the Whistle Blows"

RudolphtheDDFREDnosedreindeer · 27/12/2007 22:54

do him and Maggie live happily ever after?

ItsPotatoesForYouMyLad · 27/12/2007 22:56

oh, i do get it. i just was expecting a 'comedy', not a thought provoking drama...

wotz · 27/12/2007 22:57

well you can't please everyone MyLad

saadia · 27/12/2007 22:59

I thought it was very good, funny and serious. Loved all the cameos, particularly Clive Owen.

Maidamess · 27/12/2007 23:12

I thought it was great, especially George Michael taking the piss out of himself, and I loved Andys speech in BB.

bonkerzaboutxmas · 27/12/2007 23:16

love ricky gervais, he seems to play himself really which is hillarious. Tonights extras needed it to end with him finally snogging maggie though!

WowOoo · 27/12/2007 23:30

No, too obvious! Loved it and had tears in my eyes - laughing! (and the BB speech!!)

DaddyCool · 28/12/2007 12:33

brilliant. The George Michael in the park scene had me howling.

it started at "what did you get done for?".. "well, fly tipping of all things...."

SantasSmartArse · 28/12/2007 12:34

Genius! Really pleased it finished with a good episode and didn't drag on into another series but lose its lustre, if you see what I mean.

Dottydot · 28/12/2007 12:36

I thought it was the best Extras he's done. I cried buckets at the end...

missyhissey · 28/12/2007 12:43

I thought it was really good compared to most of the stuff on over Christmas. Liked the gay Scottish guy in the park who was in the last series, he was so funny. Does anyone else think that Maggie's character was not particularly realistic, she is such a good looking woman there is no way she would have been living such a miserable lonely life. In reality there would be a queue of blokes lining up for her!

DaddyCool · 28/12/2007 12:48

i thought the same thing actually. I think she's rather attractive.

I liked most of it, but I thought the last part was mawkish and sentimental. I think Andy's realization that he had turned into a complete **hole could have been done a bit more subtly. His big "moment" was too explicit, and I really didn't like his I've-been-a-fool speech. Hollywood beckons...

FranSanDisco · 28/12/2007 14:31

I PMSL at Clive Owen for about 5 mins

WeWhizzzYouAMerryXmas · 28/12/2007 14:32

and I've just had to down load the haunting Kate Bush track that was featured too

A few moments of brilliance but it was over long and repetitious, labouring the point, and I thought there were too many celeb cameos -- felt a bit smug.
