@Wife2b thank you for doing that job. I’ve heard so many social work students fearful of taking those roles once qualified because of the fear of a case like this happening/fear of being struck off if deemed the haven’t acted correctly, which further impacts on staffing and pressure on those in the role.
I think there is much greater awareness of safeguarding and “think family” developing in services now, but there’s still a long way to go. I’m just very thankful that I wasn’t an Appropriate Adult in a case like this.

Sideswiped · 04/01/2022 22:38

I'm aghast at the pity these supposed human beings give to themselves, yet they gave none to that little baby. This shouldn't have happened, but the police team did a great job, in the circumstances they were dealing with. It's a job I wouldn't do even if I were paid millions.

Unsure33 · 04/01/2022 22:44

@RunningFromInsanity

So pleased the boy is happy and safe . Do you know about the other children?

deeedeee · 04/01/2022 22:44

Fucking hell, I can’t believe she got acquitted and didn’t serve jail time and if it’s true that she’s gone on to have another baby???? Fucking hell.

Something I don’t understand is why her Facebook page is still open and available to be commented on? As is his?

Babyvenusplant · 04/01/2022 22:56

@surreymum89

Watching this with my baby boy lying on me and just so sad for poor baby Teddie having a life of pain Sad monsters !

Does anyone know why the police were involved right from the beginning ? Is this routine procedure or were there already suspicions ?

I think they said in the programme that the nature of the incident prompted the police to be involved, I could be wrong though
Redburnett · 04/01/2022 22:58

The woman deserved a custodial sentence for not protecting her children from him.

Caneloalvarez · 04/01/2022 23:00

I can't understand these disgusting people. She still had time to maintain her fucking awful patchy fake tan and Sharpie brows through a case where her partner murdered her baby.. How how how do these types of people grow into their fucking awful lives, how do they have any friends, family around them. They are so evil, the absolute lowest of the low. I can't even comment on him. I don't know how the interviewers remain so calm and not punch them in the face!

Ecosaurus · 04/01/2022 23:06

@surreymum89 The police are always involved when a child dies from unexplained causes.

oatmilk4breakfast · 04/01/2022 23:07

Agree. I thought her opening statement was all about her, about the life she had lost. Was genuinely horrifying to hear it and realise what you should have been hearing - ie gutwrenching grief about her baby... ?? She must have been abused herself.

RunningFromInsanity · 04/01/2022 23:07

@Unsure33 They are all living together with the Bio Dad and Stepmum.
(Sorry should have made it clearer)

CazCaz0013 · 04/01/2022 23:09

@lollipoprainbow

No doubt the thick cow will be moving her next boyfriend in as soon as she can and having more children.
She would not necessarily be allowed to keep future children
RunningFromInsanity · 04/01/2022 23:12

I was a bit incorrect with my earlier post, she is still pregnant with the baby, it’s not been born yet, which is why it hasn’t been removed.

MaryStuart · 04/01/2022 23:12

18 years for what he inflicted on poor Teddie seems very low to me. And don’t even go there re Smith’s pitiful 2 year community order, WTF?

Especially in light of other recent cases.
Eg :
The jail sentences given to Arthur Labinjo-Hughes' killers were too lenient, the attorney general says. And are being reviewed.
His stepmother, Tustin was jailed for at least 29 years for his murder and Arthur's father, Hughes got 21 years for manslaughter.

And regarding Star Hobson.
Savannah Brockhill was sentenced to life imprisonment with a minimum term of 25 years. Frankie Smith was sentenced to eight years in prison.

This just seems low in comparison.
RIP poor Teddie. ❤️

YouCantTourniquetTheTaint · 04/01/2022 23:12

He is just scum, pure scum, he knew Teddie wasn't his, hence so much violence towards him. He tortured that child and beat the other kids physically and verbally. He is just evil. Pure evil.

She is in so much denial and I think so numbed by the abuse, but she was given so many opportunities to tell the police that he was an abusive monster and could have harmed Teddie. She needed to be held to account for covering for him and not calling 999 quick enough.

I’m pleased to hear that.
The interview with the eldest child was so distressing to hear. I can’t imagine what those children must have witnessed and experienced.

I can’t believe she’s pregnant again.
Unbelievable.

Thanks, sorry my first time posting on here!

The police admit that police attended on multiple times to call outs for domestic abuse and it was noted the children were present in the flat - why was this not escalated?

ParkheadParadise · 04/01/2022 23:50

SS were called by neighbours in the past as well.

That post should be taken down @AnnaMarieQ .

Ecosaurus · 04/01/2022 23:56

You've shared information which has identified children as well as adults - really bloody dumb. Surely can you see that?

JemimaTab · 05/01/2022 00:02

I can’t believe she was looking at the diagrams from her baby’s autopsy as if it were a bus map or something. No emotion whatsoever. How on earth did she get away with it?
Incredibly upsetting case. It was heartbreaking to hear the child’s interview.

acatcalledjohn · 05/01/2022 00:16

That was a tough watch. He is an angry little waste of oxygen, but I'm pleased his suicide attempt failed. It would have been too easy a way out.

When they interviewed one of her other kids, that was heartbreaking.

She is utter scum too. All those opportunities and she chose to stand by him, rather than her children. I'm shocked to read she's got another child now. Unbelievable.

@AnnaMarieQ - reported.
