Does anyone else watch this show?

I love it, but nobody seems to know about it! Sad

This episode made my eyes water and nose tingle

I’m getting more emotional with each episode. By 18 I will be an emotional wreck

There's a few things I thought when I watched it but won't say anything for the time being.

It’s on Prince for U.K. to download /watxh

its fair game to discuss it

i avoid this thread /similar threads till I have watched

just finished ‘Miguel’ and glad I am home alone as very red eyed now! So beautifully written and acted. Probably my favourite episode.

Theblacksheepandme · 05/05/2022 11:40

Ok so , I think it's shit that The Peterson's had no interest in Miguel's life. Was Rebecca the only person that asked him what his story was? It would have been nice to get more insight on why his kids didn't want anything to do with him. I know he spent a lot of time working but they really resented him. I also wondered if it should have always been Rebecca and Miguel and not Jack. I loved how she sat beside him and kissed him.

Theblacksheepandme · 05/05/2022 12:31

Pearson's for crying out loud.

Blondeshavemorefun · 05/05/2022 14:53

I think Miguel had an affair with first wife hence kids hated him

didn't he have 2 kids but only one was there

I don’t think the big 3 reliese how much Miguel did for her and how much he loved her

till the end

they were mean as kids /adults to him

FinnRussell · 05/05/2022 15:09

That was a brilliant episode. I have completely fallen in love with Miguel. So pleased we got to see his relationship with Rebecca, he definitely doesn't seem like second best husband which is how he seems to have been portrayed until now. Loved it and crying now!

Libertynan · 05/05/2022 15:27

Oh wow! I wish we'd known a little more about MIguel earlier on. He was quite a mystery.

What a good ending though. Another red faced sniveller here 😥

Aboutcoffee · 05/05/2022 15:42

I may have to watch that episode again.

Miguel getting up an hour early so he could be waiting when Rebecca woke up 😢

Juniper68 · 05/05/2022 16:30

Aw so emotional 😭

Juniper68 · 05/05/2022 16:32

I seem to remember talk about him applying for the job with Mike and Miguel in a previous episode? Disgusting but really happens.

Doubleraspberry · 05/05/2022 17:34

Miguel was a great episode. I'd rather stopped caring about Kevin and women to be honest. But seeing the full story of Miguel was very moving, and done so well - really revived my interest. I haven't been remotely teary over This Is Us for a long time but that did for me. The Billy Joel number at the end is a favourite of mine too.

While I'm at it, I agree with the irritating sanitisation of dementia in this programme; the treatment of Deja's fostering and adoption also was quite silly.

And Kate and Philip have the chemistry of two pebbles. I genuinely can't see how we're meant to think that's a real relationship. I'm almost embarrassed to watch.

Lockeddownagain · 05/05/2022 17:44

Miguel was the most espoide of the programme I've ever seen. My papa was like that when my grans altzhiemers took hold wouldn't let anyone help he was a workaholic and wasn't home a lot and tried to make up for it. I look at my dad aging and its so sad but the way Miguel and Rebecca age up and down and don't look like they are acting at all is incredible . Such an amazing idea for a TV series

Just watched it and used a box of tissues 😭what a lovely episode. Couple of timeline issues for me regarding Miguel and Rebecca’s relationship though from my recall of previous eps in the early series? Be interested to see what everyone thinks.

I thought Jack and Miguel met when Jack needed a suit for Rebecca's Dad's yacht club thing? They become best friends very quickly 🤨 (slightly overinvested 😂)

This. He brought a posh suit. And met Miguel’

Went out with Rebecca’s dad. Think he got drunk at the golf club

FinnRussell · 05/05/2022 19:05

There's been another misremembering of the Jack/Miguel timeline before. Something about Miguel saying when Jack met Rebecca he hardly saw Miguel anymore, except he met Rebecca first. None of it detracts from my love of Miguel's episode. Also agree it's the first episode that's made me cry in ages.

AnnesBrokenSlate · 05/05/2022 19:36

That was such a lovely episode. I'm a complete mess.

Do we think the rest of the episodes will stay in one time frame and it will be the time frame from the end of the Miguel episode?

diddl · 05/05/2022 20:54

How old were the "kids" approx when they met for Thanksgiving & walked in on Miguel & Rebecca kissing?

I can see it would have been a shock, but they acted like petulant youngsters!

Kevin taking that fucking hat away🙄😂

Late 20s, maybe 30. Miguel and Rebecca reconnected when Tess was born in 2008 (so they'd have been 27 or 28), so add on however long it took for them to get together and then decide to tell the kids. Kevin was a massive baby in that scene, but he was still behaving that way in S1 when he was 36!

katienana · 05/05/2022 21:14

They must have been around 30?!
I cried at the end.

MardyOldGoth · 05/05/2022 21:15

I have a question: Where does one find a man like Miguel? He's so lovely!

Ferntastical · 05/05/2022 22:05

The Miguel episode is too much. They've broken my heart here and I can't stop sniffling.

Netaporter · 05/05/2022 22:09

The timeline issue I’m referring to is that I thought Miguel and Rebecca had got together when the big three were in their early twenties, not thirty and at the cabin?

I think both of Miguel’s kids were there at the end plus the son’s wife?

I think Shelley and Miguel split up because he was always working. I also hadn’t realised he had become quite so wealthy.

Still, I loved the episode . Thought about it all day 😭

neveradullmoment99 · 05/05/2022 22:12

MIguel - Absolutely fantastic episode. I'm snivelling. Just like the early seasons. Utterly fab. Oh but such a sad ending :(

SickAndTiredAgain · 05/05/2022 22:16

I think that episode made me realise how annoying I find the three "children". They weren't in it much and I didn't miss them.
