It's on in the background here. DC in bed. DH half-watching, I'm sort of watching. Feels dull and an odd mix- lacks atmosphere and William looks bored.

Oh I hope it's nice! I really love a carol service and I bet Kate's really nervous for everyone to enjoy it. I've not got it on because my husband and I are binge watching peaky blinders this week (not very christmassy!)

The audience/congregation don't look very enthusiastic do they?

I got totally distracted by Ellie's lips.

It feels a bit of a mishmash of traditional and modern like it’s trying to be all things to everyone. I know why it’s not on BBC but I think they’d have done it better. Didn’t enjoy Ellie and Leona warbling but liked Draco Malfoy reading the soldier’s letter!

I like it. Nice mix of carols and Christmas songs with not too many readings. Enjoyed seeing Kate play the piano.

Didn’t get the whole Goulding performance though. Why did she deliver it like she was cold? Was she going method?

I thought she was dressed as an angel.

She sounded as though she was shivering. Or being electrocuted. I might just be out of touch with what is cool though.

It feels dull and a very odd mix. Leona Lewis and Ellie Goulding were dressed for a different occasion. Kate was good on the piano. The poet was just strange. I don't know whether it's a congregation or an audience but they all look miserable.It's kind of Songs of Praise at Christmas with some celebs thrown in.

I thought it was a little staid and formal. But better than torn jeans and bare feet I suppose.

I mean if I got to go to Westminster Abbey and sing carols I think I'd look a lot happier than that lot.

I watched the start, to get a look at the notorious royal cardigan. Yes, it is terrible.

Unfortunately I had just watched the Carol's at Kings College on the other side. Now. THAT is how you ding O Holy Night. Not the warbly mess on here.

Normally try to watch Carols from Kings, but I'm enjoying this. I think the mish mash of traditional and modern/trying to appeal to everyone is the whole point.

I suspect this was cobbled together in a bit of a rush. It sort of had that feeling about it. It was a bit all over the place and the audience didn’t seem into it.

I had watched Carols from Kings too which I always love.
