I’m three episodes in, and I’m like “meh”
Not very funny and depressing…
Hate all the “box ticking “ it’s overtaking the show
Charlottes daughter can’t just be a tom boy ( which in itself would be funny ) she has to be -whatever they were saying? Transgender?
3 min “comedy sketch” about being Bi….?
Charlotte and Stanford don’t like each other?
Big wanking ..( eew)
Steve just going “eh? What?”
Carrie totally ignoring Charlottes warning about Miranda’s drinking?
Miranda’s Prof saying she was a White Saviour when trying to point out to the guard he was being unreasonable?
Everyone mentioning their age every scene?
Why would Carrie be putting herself through the embarrassment of a vulgar podcast when she’s clearly retired writing and married to a millionaire?

I’m debating whether to just imagine them, all running home from the desert where my imagination left left after SATC2 …

I agree @LittleBearPad, with Natasha as an example. He had the younger woman and still ended up back with Carrie.

Robin233 · 15/01/2022 18:57

@Doubleraspberry
Steve has always been a lovely, lovely man.
He's always reminded me of my steadfast bil.
Maranda saw this in him.
But maybe that's the point.
With a midlife crisis you aren't thinking straight.
And if that's the way it's heading, it will be very interesting to see how it plays out, as inevitable, it all comes crashing down.

LoveMae · 15/01/2022 22:16

Yes I laughed my head off when Steve washed his hands first when Miranda asked him to finger her!

LittleBearPad · 15/01/2022 23:35

He’s a hygienic chap

DaggerIsle · 16/01/2022 10:38

Che does seems to have a massive following though.
We were talking about it and saying if they had been just a boring regular guy they would have been coarse, controlling and Miranda's friends would have told her to run a mile and, you know, stop cheating on her husband!
But because they are this special edgy enby character they are exciting and sexually irresistible to everyone (including Charlotte?????)

NewYearNewMinty · 16/01/2022 10:54

I've just started watching and am on episode 4 so haven't read the whole thread as don't want to get spoilers.

Wasn't convinced about the first episode but thought the Big storyline was well done and it's growing on me.

The one thing that baffles me more that anything...what the hell are they still friends with Charlotte. She nuts be one of the most irritating, unlikeable characters I have very seen on TV.

dayswithaY · 16/01/2022 14:37

Carrie is a writer so why didn't she just write a killer chapter of her book about hope and moving forward without actually going on a date? Or write about both being sick outside the restaurant? Why would she just cancel the book?

Like most people, I'm just living for the parts that don't contain Miranda and Che, Miranda and Nya, Charlotte doing her Robot Mum routine. Her perfect friends can get lost too. The woman (just uses initials - how pretentious) is meant to be a documentary maker but she can't even remember to hold the microphone towards her mouth when speaking. Idiot.

I'm only still here for Carrie, Anthony and Seema. God bless Anthony, he's the only one who hasn't turned into a blathering, shouty, eye rolling moron.

GellerYeller · 16/01/2022 16:10

As I watched this week's episode I also wondered why Carrie allowed herself to be peer pressured into a date and didn't just fictionalise one in order to finish the book!

lightisnotwhite · 16/01/2022 16:17

Loving Anthony, Seema and all the beautiful things; clothes and interiors .
The black male characters seem so one dimensional though. The three husbands ( I talking about fertile Myrtle’s episode) are all enthusiastic, cheeky chappies very interchangeable in looks and personality. Whilst the wives are all very different In the white males we have everything from bubbling dork, to vocal and intense to understated businessman.

Regarding the Miranda affair thing, I remember when Carrie admitted to her affair with Big that none of her friends really batted an eyelid. Charlotte was only concerned about the effect on her wedding. Certainly none of them judged her. In the first film when Steve cheated on Miranda, none of the others really seemed bothered about supporting her either, Charlotte said she 'liked Steve' and Samantha made comments about Miranda's lack of a bikini wax being a probable part of the issue. They all have form for how they view affairs so I dont think the current Miranda/Che thing is much of a surprise.

LoveMae · 16/01/2022 20:35

Isn't that sad though, Kits? That an affair should be swept away by friends. I know for certain that all of mine would be floored if I had one, and vice versa, and we're not generally judgy types!

DaggerIsle · 16/01/2022 20:51

I seem to remember Miranda got very angry when Carrie had the affair with Big- she thought it was a huge mistake and point blank refused to talk about it.
Told Carrie she didn't want to know.
Charlotte was annoyed because of her own situation.

The only one who didn't judge her (because she never did, in the show at least) was Samantha.

Oh absolutely! I remember being confused by it. As far as I know none of my friends have had affairs, but if they had and they told me I would certainly judge quite openly. But this lot do have form for not caring as much as you'd think.

That's not what I remember with Miranda at all. She asks for a cigarette to cope with the shock and tells Carrie to decide what she wants, not what Big wants. I don't think Miranda was ever really a big fan of Big tbh.
SpanishFly · 16/01/2022 23:08

@HeyGirlHeyBoy

So Che didn't even reply but is now in love.. Hmm The tennis was silly but plenty of signs of the old them. Carrie and Anthony are the best for me. Loved carrie in the cream and black dress Star
What makes you thin Che is in love?

I think they kinda fancy Miranda and is on a power trip knowing Miranda adores them, and is being manipulative.
Also, "they" is so confusing 😖 Why can't there be a brand-new pronoun rather than using a plural pronoun?

I thought the vomiting scene was great. Totally unexpected, and felt more like the older episodes.

SJP has such amazing poise/posture. It's particularly obvious when she's walking alongside Miranda, who's like me - a bit awkward/gangly/carthorsey/not at all elegant

SpanishFly · 16/01/2022 23:08

😆😆

And Just Like That..is anyone actually enjoy it?
declutteringmymind · 16/01/2022 23:22

I'm so glad someone started this thread.

I don't actually like any of them. The try-to-hard wokeness is so literal and obvious.

Such a shame.

JacquelineCarlyle · 16/01/2022 23:53

I agree @SpanishFly

vjg13 · 17/01/2022 09:24

@Doubleraspberry

I meant to say, is it bad that I’m finding Steve sexy in this current incarnation? He’s very clearly not meant to be!
No, me too! Blush
declutteringmymind · 17/01/2022 09:43

I get it! Just because he seems the only remotely normal person.

EachandEveryone · 17/01/2022 10:03

Oh its mean but I was just thinking there are going to be some fab Haloween get ups in America this year in certain crowds. Ive been in NYC over Halloween and seen all four characters in the crowd. Twenty years later and add Che to the mix its going to be a hoot😃 Nobody online or who Ive spoken to lijes her. How could they get it so wrong?

magicstar1 · 17/01/2022 13:40

The latest episode had me cringing, but there were some laughs in there too. Miranda and Che, just no. I'm sick of the two of them. Steve made me laugh washing his hands....but I was dying her for him to wash his hands afterwards instead of going straight to putting the food containers away.
Carrie and the vomiting scene was so funny. I hope there's more fun to come.

AsYouWishButtercup · 17/01/2022 13:43

So much of the writing is unforgivably sloppy. Like LWT and George Washington doing the auction and LWT forgets to hold the mic to her mouth. Unlikely, given she’s supposed to be a smart and confident woman who does this stuff all the time.

I did enjoy the cringe fest that was nobody bidding on Carrie at the auction - and then George Washington thinking someone was bidding when they weren’t Grin that was a glimmer of the old SATC right there!

sociallydistained · 17/01/2022 13:49

Wasn't a big fan of the latest episode, it was a bit boring but I really love Carrie at the moment I'm not sure why, possibly because the other two are being quite unbearable 🙈

HeyGirlHeyBoy · 17/01/2022 14:57

Definitely a few glimmers. I have decided they know what they're doing and it will all come good. Spanishfly, I didn't think Che loved Miranda, hence my Hmm!
