As there isn't a lot of traction on individual threads I thought I'd create a generic thread as most of us seem fond of a few.

Loving the New Jersey trailer released today. Teresa is back to her table crashing ways. She seemed so chilled on the ultimate girls trip as well !

I always wonder how these things can get leaked! Surely if there was really an affair they wouldn't have posted so much on SM?

Is anyone watching the new RHONY? I did last night and thought it was awful. Bring back Sonja and Lu and even Ramona.

I was about to watch NY but it's all new people!

I am watching it. It’s very different. It seems ok to me. It must be hard to start again with an entirely new set of housewivies. I think it will take people awhile to get used to it. Only time and viewing numbers will tell, if this franchise is popular.

I havent seen it yet but I hope they arent too boring. I wish theyd bring some of the original RHNY back. Is it on prime you are watching it?

Sonja and Luanne are doing some kind of show on Hayu - I think it’s like that thing Paris Hilton and Nicole Richie did years ago where they go to a small town and do random (often unpleasant) jobs. Not sure it’ll be any good………

This is just like Bronwin or whatever her name is on Orange County. Basically it’s a couple that still get on really well, have invested lots in each other ( ie proper marriage materials lots of kids, houses ) but then can’t really justify the “meh” of being together another 25 years.

I used to really love NY. Stopped watching it a good while ago, partly because of Dorinda, but Leah was the straw that broke the and camel's back. She was THE WORST, and made it completely unwatchable for me.

Watched the new NY yesterday, and thoroughly enjoyed it! It needed a whole new cast, I think - the older crew had nothing interesting to offer anymore.

@SeeSawSeen will definitely give it a try, I was just a bit surprised to see a total cast change. I tried Dubai but really couldn't get into it.

tried the new RHONY this morning - awful, they are clearly all brought in the try & cater for a younger audience.

Will agree that Leah was just awful but would far prefer the rest of the old cast, although time will tell

I came to this franchise very late. I started BH earlier this year and loved it. I felt bereft when it was over.

on the advice of some MNetters I have now started on NY and am on season 4. Two thing that continuously shock me is how very, very selfish and self absorbed Jill is. She cannot take any pleasure in anything that isn't all about her. And Luann is so horribly rude and classless. It is the height of bad manners to criticise other peoples manners and she does it all the time - and her outdated views on relationships! She is younger than me in this series but she has dating rules my mum would find dated.

I am so happy to have found these shows - the thought of the hundreds of viewing hours ahead of me make very happy.

I can see first episode of the new NY series showing on Prime, but when i try to play it, it says 'not available'. Any ideas?

@OMGitsnotgood I had the same problem. Did a search on Real Housewives of New York and it brought up two different season 14 episode 1's. One of them you can play

I watched 2 episode of the Crappie Lake thing with Sonja and Luann. It was dreadful.

Oh I like the new RHNYC so far. Ive always thought the New Yorkers were the uber stylish hard grafters branch of the franchise and these seem to be. One of them reminds me of Carole Ratziwill and I loved NY when she was in it. I think we should give it a chance.

I liked the lightheartedness of the new cast, and the out-there fashion and fab property. Old RHONY had got way too dark, heavy and twisty, and it wasn't the type of frivolous fun I'm after anymore. High hopes for the new cast!

Did anyone see that Andy Coen asked Brynn who the hottest franchise husband was, and she said Mauricio. Andy, quick as a flash, responds, "Yes, he's available!" Ooooohh. Cannot wait for new RHOBH, especially now Rinn is gone. Ugh, she was hateful.

Watched NY last night and also enjoyed it. Got a bit fed up of Ramona and Luanne tbh. Refreshing change! Although doesn’t one of the new NY ladies later leave??

Just looked up and answering my own question 😂🤪 There was one other lady it seems - Lizzy, who left mid way and so doesn’t appear in anything. I wonder if they had to edit heavily or just reshoot those early scenes….

@Justfivemoreminutesplease apparently the reason the first episode was so disjointed was because they had filmed for three weeks and had to discard the footage as one of the ladies was fired for an inappropriate remark to a cast mate.

So the whole cheese platter incident/ refusal to eat at Catch restaurant had taken place and was filmed but couldn't be shown.

Goodness me tha5 restaurant is expensive. Is that the one two of them bailed out on because it was naff? Surely not.

I like the new NY cast, agree with a pp that the old lot had run out of steam. They'd become caricatures of themselves almost. Time for some fresh new blood.
