Am I the only one who thinks that Henry Cavill is the most perfect example of a perfect man alive today?!🥰🥰😋😋🤣🤣

@ToughTittyWhompus 🤣 I was actually referring to the way you keep calling him Henry. Also, I'm going to let you in on a little secret... According care who's watching their programmes, as long as elple are watching, they get paid. Oh and people can watch any TV series they want, and for any reason.
You seem to get getting little too worked up about that.
P.S I did actually know that he took the part because he loves the games and books, but I wouldn't be as ridiculous as to tell people they shouldn't be watching the series if they don't.

Thatsplentyjack · 19/12/2021 07:35

Not according care, I meant Acotors don't care

Enb76 · 19/12/2021 07:44

I love the genre - I can totally suspend my disbelief at some of the plot holes however, I do not see the attraction of Henry Cavill and find it hard to take him seriously as an actor as opposed to a talking plank of wood. It seems the range of his acting is the low grunt. Hmmm

weaselwords · 19/12/2021 07:48

I’ve only played the games, not read the books, so am confused about Eskel’s character arc. Thought we’d see more of him.

Sickoffamilydrama · 19/12/2021 08:06

Henry Cavill is easy on the eye definitely, whilst I enjoy this kind of genre I find that the characters and plot line aren't as well rounded as some other fantasy. You can definitely tell the books are written by a man lots of sexy witches/women.
Although DH enjoyed them but he openly admits he's not into very complex plot lines and he also loves the love between Geralt & Yenfer in fact he likes tragic love stories I'm anything.
The true blood books are good for more rounded characters.

Mumoblue · 19/12/2021 08:21

I’m 4 episodes into season 2 and I’m enjoying it so far. I’m finding Ciri a bit annoying at times, a lot of her whining about why she can’t do shit could easily be answered with : because you are a child now shut up.

Also I found what they did with Eskel a bit weird.

Henry Cavill absolutely does “grime up good” Grin and I’m really enjoying him as Geralt in season 2, although I may be in the minority here but Jaskier is more my type - even though I don’t love what they’ve done to his hair this season.

And before the nerd police comes back, I’m aware of the books but have chosen not to read them because they very much strike me as “fantasy written by a man for men” and I’m not in the mood for that lately, and I’m aware of all the games but only chose to play the third because the first two were only so-so. 🤷‍♀️

crazyjinglist · 19/12/2021 09:11

What an oddly snarky thread Grin. I'm absolutely loving the Witcher. I'm a big fan of the fantasy genre anyway, and I like the tongue-in-cheek humour of this series and the fact that it doesn't take itself seriously!

I'm not a gamer. I read lots of fantasy and I tried reading the books but didn't get on with them at all. Maybe it's the translation though. I find Geralt quite attractive considering that he isn't physically my type at all. It's clearly his personality that appeals to me . Grin Absolutely love Jaskier for the comedy element though. I've only watched episodes 1&2 so far, so looking forward to his return!

Campervan69 · 19/12/2021 10:25

I'm loving season 2 so far, am 4 episodes in. I really enjoy this programme although I haven't read the books and I don't play video games.

Yes HC grimes up amazingly and is completely unsexy with neat dark hair. Another hot blonde who I only fancy as the character is Eric in True Blood. Not sure who I'd choose out of the 2 of them.....

doadeer · 19/12/2021 14:43

I'm loving it but I love most of the fantasy genre. Also liking wheel of time.

I just realised Jaskier is Geordie - missed that in the last season.

Loving Ciri this season!

The Yennifer storyline is annoying me a bit

Geralt is an absolute fittie.

The true blood books were amazing. Really good series
Sickoffamilydrama · 19/12/2021 14:47

Glad I'm not alone dodeer have you read her aurora tea garden (think that's the name) ones they are equally as good for having well developed but relatable female characters.

Winecheesesleep · 19/12/2021 14:57

I haven't watched the new series yet, I was about to and then realised I could barely remember anything that happened in series 1 so rewatching that first.

I really like The Witcher and also find Geralt easy on the eye. Maybe I should watch Enola Holmes too.

Oooh no but next on my list!
Hadjab · 19/12/2021 15:25

@ToughTittyWhompus

Henry is playing Geralt because he’s a huge gaming nerd who has also read the books. I’m watching the show because I’ve read the books and played the game and am a fan of the fantasy genre in general.

If you’re watching to just drool over Henry, and aren’t aware of the games/books, then The Witcher isn’t the place to do that.

I’m pretty sure I can drool over Henry wherever and whenever I like 👅
Sickoffamilydrama · 19/12/2021 17:40

I have a tenuous link to Henry Cavill my -D- Bro did acting and knew him plus was in a TV/film with him (can't remember which) obviously if I had meet him at the time he would have fallen head over heels with me and he would be mine all mine 🤣🤣🤣
Max Irons also came to play at out house one time as well I was certainly surprised when I saw him all grown up!

Okay sad name drop over 😉

Sickoffamilydrama · 19/12/2021 17:42

Actually D Bro would have made a great actor his ego is this --------- big!

Jeeez what pound store did they get Jaskiers wig from???
crazyjinglist · 20/12/2021 22:22

So happy to see Jasker back, but yy to the pound shop wig Shock!

What would be wrong with his own hair? Never understand why they have such massive budgets then mess up something so fundamental.

Also Yen's dress which was missing an entire top half. What was going on there? Wardrobe!!

Sickoffamilydrama · 20/12/2021 22:32

@jaundicedoutlook

Ew, no.

DH has been watching this and, I have to say, it’s total cobblers.

Are we meant to believe that all these wizards, who can seemingly teleport themselves over vast distances and fire off all sorts of nasty spells, all just sit there slack jawed and watch whilst the dark haired witch piece cuts through some prisoner’s chains, runs off knocking over a torch and some wood, then escapes with the prisoner on a horse? Come on! I know realism isn’t the number one priority here, but seriously…!

Watched this episode last night...they did explain the lack of magic by getting someone to say they block magic at this don't they.

But yes the plot was a little thin there!

Sickoffamilydrama · 20/12/2021 22:34

My DH enjoyed that dress 🤣

I actually liked it but would be hitching it up every 5 seconds if I was wearing it.

There was a definite hitch halfway through. Then the next minute it had dropped down again. Must have been too heavy. Continuity missed that.
weaselwords · 21/12/2021 10:00

I do like that Henry Cavill is so good with horses in this series. Kind of necessary, I suppose. In the first episode of the first series, when Roach goes to nip the girl and he bumps Roaches nose and says “Be nice”. That’s someone who knows horses. Or he’s a superb actor Grin. Roach must be a big horse as Henry is a unit and they just look normal together.

crazyjinglist · 21/12/2021 10:40

I didn't think the dress was terribly flattering tbh. Even beautiful young women like Yen benefit from something slightly more supportive imo Grin

NandorTheRelentless · 21/12/2021 13:09

The dress was horrible
