Here's the line-up.

I couldn't see a thread so thought I'd start one.

I know 7/10, which is pretty good for me!

We've not seen much of Simon or Adam yet, let's hope they put some life into the camp as there don't seem to be many interesting characters in there with big personalities.

butterpuffed · 28/11/2021 08:17

Any not many !

LagneyandCasey · 28/11/2021 08:28

Didn't everyone complain that everyone was too nice last year, and that they all got on too well together, so there wasn't enough drama.
The producers can't win!

We don't just need drama though. We just need more of them just sitting around talking and sharing stories. 2020 was such a crap year with restrictions I think a lot of us just enjoyed seeing people actually being together, supporting each other and having some fun. Victoria Derbyshire was good last year as she got conversations going and got people talking quite deeply about their lives, which brought about closeness and bonding. Richard and Louise were probably going to be in that role this year but Richard's gone. Hopefully Louise will start getting people to come out of their shells. She must have met a lot of them already on BBC breakfast.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/11/2021 08:43

A castle that has stood there for years and they get removed

I know equipment has been damaged but still all the inside cameras

Will they eat rice and beans in their cottages

And yes the naughty boy, pathetic name anyway, trial was far to easy compared to what richard had to do

DobbyTheHouseElk · 28/11/2021 08:45

I’m sure they will all be in their phones and see what the public think of them and will behave accordingly from now on. It’s spoilt it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/11/2021 09:38

They might read this thread 😂😂

TitsInAbsentia · 28/11/2021 10:16

just read a story that NB is lying about his age and is apparently 40...i mean why would you 😂 not posting link as it was a scum article that came up on my news feed.

Roussette · 28/11/2021 10:17

Ok..... I have a message for them then (if they're reading)

NB, stop whinging and taking offence at everything. Arlene... try and smile and stop whinging too.

The rest of you... just carry on as you are! (especially Simon & Adam, the stars of the show so far!)

PolkadotsAndMoonbeams · 28/11/2021 10:19

Years ago didn't they have a live feed on most of the time? So you could watch them just wandering about.

The Welsh version feels far more edited in some ways.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 28/11/2021 11:10

Yes I think so. Without the sound possibly.

It’s incredibly edited in the castle. I’ll watch next week and see how it goes. If it continues to be rubbish I won’t bother to watch the whole series. Losing Richard is a big blow to the show. He was the mega star this year.

woodhill · 28/11/2021 12:17

@JovialNickname

So what happened with that trial then, it was barely a trial at all. It was basically just collecting very visible stars from a normal walk in wardrobe - a far cry from Richard's having to slide down a chute head first into fish guts! Does anyone else think there was a talk between NBs agent and the show producers saying that if he wasn't "allowed" to win he'd be walking and taking Arlene with him? I thought it was strange NB wasn't nervous about the trial this time, I think he already knew he'd get it really easy.

On the other hand I did laugh at Ant and Dec trying to inject some excitement and enthusiasm into the most boring trial ever!

And Ant and Dec helped him

Richard's one was awful , if it had been a bit more gentle he may still be in the show

LagneyandCasey · 28/11/2021 12:39

Such a shame about Richard. I think he could have come top three and maybe even won. He doesn't need it for a career boost obviously but he's a bit of a comedy character for a lot of people and he had a chance to show a different side of his personality.

TheChosenTwo · 28/11/2021 12:47

@woodhill what actually happened to Richard? I can’t quite work it out, did he fall and sustain an injury?! I don’t feel it was really addressed although i may have just missed it.

Blondeshavemorefun · 28/11/2021 12:50

He felt ill possibly sick /tummy pains

Went to hospital to be checked out

Therefore met other people so a risk to camp mates of covid so had to opt out

I liked him. Wanted him to win

Roussette · 28/11/2021 13:41

I find Richard insufferable but everyone to their own!

friedeggandsauce · 28/11/2021 13:44

@Roussette he's my guilty crush 😳

DobbyTheHouseElk · 28/11/2021 13:55

Richard said he had a small “scare” in the small hours. something which he wouldn’t have worried about if it had happened at home, but itv are very good at caring for the camp mates so immediately called a paramedic.

I guess at a chest pain. Possibly indigestion causing a chest pain.

Roussette · 28/11/2021 13:57

friedegg at least you're honest about it! 😂🤣

MolkosTeenageAngst · 28/11/2021 14:02

I don’t think Richard’s health scare was caused by his trial, they air the trials the day after they happened; his health scare was over 24 hours after his trial and on the same night as Adam & Simon’s arrival. He looked well enough the day after his trial and at the meal following Adam & Simon’s arrival, could well have been indigestion though after having a bigger meal that might following days of rations.

DobbyTheHouseElk · 28/11/2021 14:15

He did speak about it in his interview with Ant n Dec. He was very open about what happened.

woodhill · 28/11/2021 14:51
@woodhill what actually happened to Richard? I can’t quite work it out, did he fall and sustain an injury?! I don’t feel it was really addressed although i may have just missed it.
I'm not sure either tbh, thought he became ill after doing that trial

Ilovefluffysheep · 28/11/2021 15:59

In his interview he said he had a "funny turn."

I saw something that suggested it could be down to low blood sugar - no idea if that's true, although would make sense with the lack of food.

TheChosenTwo · 28/11/2021 16:36

@DobbyTheHouseElk yeah he didn’t shy away from talking about it but I just didn’t really think it was clear! Was he light headed? Feel faint? Having heart palpitations? Experienced double vision? He said it was so minor that if it happened at home he wouldn’t have thought twice about it!
So something clearly minor. But enough to make itv pull him.
He just didn’t actually go into detail about it, that’s all.

friedeggandsauce · 28/11/2021 17:59

@Roussette

friedegg at least you're honest about it! 😂🤣
@Roussette from the secrecy of mumsnet 🤣🤣
Roussette · 28/11/2021 18:21

I've read he'd been up for about 16 hours and was dehydrated and agreed to go off and be checked, not realising he wouldn't be let back in...
or something like that

from the secrecy of mumsnet 😁😂
