i don't think grundy's have pigs. doesn't eddie cover neil with tom archer's? or has he stopped that now he has brookfield milking? (how DO i know all this?)

yes jim is best archers (family) storyline for ages. i think nic is good and has been shipped in so that emma and clarrie can gang up on her.

I don't care if Will gets taken for a ride, he's an idiot, but I really hope the whole thing annoys Clarrie. Was she always foul?

I loathe Shula - she does all those hideous voice overs for all the crap children's tv programmes - where she is supposed to sound like a child but sounds so irritating that you wish you had an axe and could hack her voicebox out.

Phew. Glad I got that off my chest.

The Grundys DO have a pig, she's just a pet though. She's called something like babyspice, or poshspice, or something... Argh! It's going to drive me crazy!

Oh yes. Shula was Squirrel Nutkin in a Beatrix Potter tape we used to have. The character really is nauseating though. No wonder her vet husband was driven to the gambling table.

they need shula to be sanctimonious and annoying - after all who is going to take on the peggy role now she is getting older(although tbh peggy doesn't annoy me as much as she did).
But even though it is shula I did get a little annoyed for her when jim went through her freezer for joe grundy - I like eddy and even still like clarrie but joe has always needed a good spell in the pigpen having some sense kicked into him.

I cannot believe they would let will suffer in yet another love triangle

and annabel definitely after matt- all evasive after drinks party , surprised to meet lilian. Absolutely loved jenny dishing out advice on how to handle love rivals..

There was a Grundy pig called Barbarella a few years back. I think Posh Spice was a Grundy cow, and Baby Spice her calf. Have they really given the new pig the same name? (I've missed a few episodes this week).

The pig is Barbarella (I just checked my synopsis email; am v impressed that you remembered, Hallgerda!)

I'm still not sure about Nic - when she wails and whinges I keep wanting to send her to sit on the naughty step, but the rest of the time she sounds quite good fun and much better for Will than droopy Emmurr.

Trouble is I don't hear every episode and there are sometimes minor situations/remarks that turn out to be very significant later.

i only half heard some eps but gather that matt has been spurned by annabel and lilian is still at the bull (having lost a bit of weight through broken heart).

cannot work out significance of ruth storyline, why are they all being super nice to her?

olivia - bbc has really good synopsis but basically matt went to the bull to try and grovel to lilian, lilian was having none of it so threw a pint over it - cue matt going off in a huff. When Sid went over to see matt a few days later (at joelene's request as she is desperate to get lilian out the bull), matt was unrepetant -saying he'd done nothing wrong and lilian owed him an apology.

Lilan is moping and has had various moans about her plight to jenny and that most likely of agony aunts eddy grundy.

Nothing has happened with annabel - lilian ran into matt and annabel having lunch at grey gables where the evil looks lilian gave annabel led her to conclude that matt was making it up re their being no problems with relationship . Annabel subsequently found out that lilian had walked out - and told matt that she knew -the implication b

There have also been words from brian re not really having much time for matt given what he had done to lilian (I haven't got round to listening to this yet but the mind boggles as how BRIAN of who people has the brass neck to lecture re infidelity).

Ruth has been in hospital having reconstructive surgery.

Nic does seem to have gone a little mad recently - I thought she was OK at first (I have obviously been lured into the trap )

and yes nic is really really annoying.. I am so lonely, I've not got enough money , George don't do that.
I cannot see what the appeal was.

Re ruth - I think its the latest in a longline of tedious storylines re the archers coming through adveristy through family lurve.... At least its a relief from the "comedy" storyline of phil's attempts at cooking after he came back from travelling

Okay, Lillian walked in on Matt getting chummy with Annabel (leaning in for a hug I think? Can't remember now) and stormed out and moved into the Bull temporarily.

Matt didn't know where she was for ages, then found out and tried to talk her round. He ended up with a pint of beer tipped over himself

Lillian was persuaded later to go talk to Matt, but then saw him AGAIN with Annabel (just as he was trying to persuade Annabel that he and Lillian were in an open relationship). Lillian gave Matt an almighty glower (thus giving the game away that they weren't in an open relationship, lol) and as far as I know they haven't spoken since. (But I haven't listened to Friday's episode yet).

Re: Ruth. She's just had a breast reconstruction after having a mastectomy some years back (I think - I have only recently started listening, so I'm relying on a friend telling me this).
