National television awards anyone watching ?

Didn't see a thread but I'm watching.

Very moved by the review of the time since the last awards and being reminded of the amazing shows that have been on.

Really hoping unforgotten and it's a sin get awards

I wondered why Martin's wife was on stage. She appeared in one programme as he was going to do On Line Dating. Other than that she clearly thought she was worth it and it did seem to be all about her and the way she was crying and pawing at him.

Stunning looking though but I am afraid the award wasnt about her and she clearly thought it was!

His wife’s often described as an “aspiring actress” when you see her mentioned in connection with Martin. I suspect she saw an opportunity for a few minutes of TV exposure and went for it. But no, there was no reason for her to be up there. I wonder what the rest of the LoD team made of it.

Was Dot Cotton up there too, I mean why? Wasn't he killed 3 series ago.

I just saw clips, can't bear the Holly/PiP and Ant and Dec adulation. The fact that ant and Dec keep winning should surely tell itv the choice is piss poor and maybe up their game.

Yeah I think she's American and they live in LA? (MC and his wife that is). Maybe she thought this was the Oscars or something, when in fact everyone is going "who the eff is she and what's she doing up there?" .

Love LOD and soooo pleased to see it get some sort of recognition at last.

I see her stage invasion has gone viral! Yeah they live in Vegas I think. I'm a massive MC fan but that was a bit cringe.

I purposely turn off if I see Holly and Phil and I'm starting to go that way with Ant and Dec. Actually most ITV shows!

To be fair to Dot Cotton, I think he was there for the special recognition award that covered all the series, and didn't go up on stage for the first one. Prepared to be corrected though!

That's right @ChildOfFriday - he did only go up for the special recognition award.

Hardly any LOD cast there. Perhaps MC's wife was making up the numbers. Patrick Baladi there too I think?

So pleased It's a sin won. A really wonderful drama with brilliant performances by the whole cast. Funny and sad. Taught me a lot

How bloody dare she go up on to the stage with the Line of Duty team?

She must be bloody insecure the way she was pawing him, should have been wearing her I Heart Martin sandwich board...

When he was about to speak she was straightening his jacket etc, just about stopped short of licking a tissue and wiping his face with it. 🤮

Shame that none of Jed, Adrian or Vicky were able to attend.

Also in the acting category, I think David Tennant only won because the three LoD actors split the vote. I am certain Adrian or Martin would have won if they had been the sole LoD nominee.

It was embarrassing though - I could hardly hear to watch. She certainly had no right to be up there. But it did get her in the papers next day so maybe that’s what she was after?
