National television awards anyone watching ?

Didn't see a thread but I'm watching.

Very moved by the review of the time since the last awards and being reminded of the amazing shows that have been on.

Really hoping unforgotten and it's a sin get awards

Nauseating with Holly and Phil, Ruth and Eamonn hardly getting a look in ! Martin frizell schmoozing over them yuk !!
Showed PS as rather self centred. All about himself and his best friend Holly. No acknowledgment of the other presenters or production crew or those who voted. PS and HW raced up there and starting speaking before everyone else was up there. They always speak, it would have been better to have chosen someone else.

Anyone else notice how R&E and P&H didn't congratulate each other, they seemed to ignore each other. Seemed quite cold.

Phil standing up there bragging about how he was still able to go to work while thousands of people suffered both financially and mentally was sickening tbh.
Yes- in it together. Notice how no one else tried that line. We were his security blanket. Fake. Same storm, different boats. He's shown himself to be rather self centred.

@gingercatsparky Because they hate each other 🤷🏻‍♀️They fell out didn’t they after Ruth complained about Phil (apparently he’s not very well liked at all, they are though)
They think it’s the Phil & Holly show, when they’re the least entertaining on it.

Thought that was just a tabloid rumour. Certainly seemed cold though and no hugging. What did she complain about?

Ooh you really should see it's a sin if you can. It's utterly heartbreaking but it's an amazing piece of work! Such an important story to tell.

Also check out the threads on here those of us "watching together" and some of us like me with memories of treating aids patients at that time. Well early 90's for me.

Many of the younger posters watching were shocked at how those infected or even "just" gay were treated back then.

Agreed!! I think ots probably one of the nest things I've ever watched, Ollie Alexander was absolutely incredible.

Got chocked up watching Kate Garraway! 😢 And teary when they were showing all the tv highlights durning the pandemic

tiny bit sad Piers Morgan didn't win though

My thoughts exactly!!! I voted for the repair shop, would have been a much more worthy winner. Philip missed the mark with that speech too!

Yep Philip could have said something about the wider team that make the show work (isn’t that the usual etiquette) - for example the production staff, and what about the runners.

The This Morning runner and mentee Matthew McGreevy moved to Loose Women in 2019. Allegedly Ruth was not impressed with the sidestep for this protégé (some might say it was a demotion) and vocalised it.
The runner, from a young age, wanted to be in television. He attended the 2 faced theatre academy in Holmfirth, which Phillip Schofield was patron of and was delighted when the latter followed him on Twitter.
He had a presenter reel and had interviewed Phillip for practise.
He left Loose Women in May and now works for Netflix.
You will see from his CV that he was a runner and production secretary for This Morning and presenters' runner for Dancing On Ice, being on hand for any requests/needs:
