I thought I had started a post about this programme when the pilot was out but just seen on Instagram that the series will be starting on 13th September. I hope it's as good as the pilot was.

Amy Gledhill too!

Just finished watching this, it's the best thing I've watched in ages!

Teeh · 15/10/2024 08:40

I love her “woo !”

BlanklyMyDear · 15/10/2024 19:02

Well … I was struggling a bit; S2 seemed such a ragbag of odds and ends flung together. But Ep 4 is just a bit epic.

Craig Parkinson! 😍 (Saw him once on a train and could scarcely stop staring - so much more handsome than Dot.) Also loved seeing the aquarium beneath Bolton Library - which I thought had closed.

And in general one can only be flabbergasted by the roster of stars in the cast. But everything’s such a rush and treated so superficially. Not sure. Couple more to go, though!

5 and 6 were something else.

I agree.

Just stunning TV and storytelling.

I do like Alma's Not Normal. Great characters. Yes, sometimes it's a bit broad but has a lot of warmth and has something to say about life and society. Alma is actually the most normal one in many ways! Her mum, played hilariously by Siobhan Finnerman is a wonder.

Teeh · 16/10/2024 14:52

I just finished watching this and thought it was wonderful. Loved Siobhan finnermans acting and storyline very unusual and different

cushionfiend · 16/10/2024 21:47

Just laughed and cried my way through episodes 5 & 6. Wonderful.

the80sweregreat · 17/10/2024 19:43

I loved the last two episodes.
It has a lot to say and I'm glad she's done so well.

I’ve just finished it I absolutely loved it and I don’t know anyone that watches it! Same with Mandy, I think you either get the humour or you don’t. The acting is phenomenal I’m so please life turned out well for her.

NecklessMumster · 28/10/2024 13:38

Well, that was just wonderful. Funny, sad, angry and empathic which is hard to pull off. I loved grandma's immaculately tidy house, and Siobhan Finneran.

daffodilandtulip · 28/10/2024 14:23

Just excellent. Refreshing storyline, strong women, positivity. Made me cry!

And as an ex-professional in the area, it's spot on, and all the things that used to rage me!

spiderlight · 28/10/2024 14:26

Loved it, especially the last two. I hope we see a lot more from Sophie Willan.

longtompot · 29/10/2024 17:36

Loved her great grandmas funeral episode. What a family! I wonder if any are close to real life members? I didn't like the next one so much. Think I found her dad far too awful.
