Anyone watch this? It was really good - love Alix generally anyway and seeing her arguing with her mum and flapping slightly when she’s normally so unflappable was endearing. Made her very human. The relationship with her mum - who was so demanding and such high standards and barely giving an inch in each discussion really made me laugh. For someone who has a similar mum-daughter relationship with my own mum, I fully recognised a lot of Alix’s woes

It’s OPs signature style. I can’t get over spending so much on furniture. Like the antique bed. Surely they need good quality hard wearing stuff.

I don’t think the style is Alex at all. When she redesigns a room on Hotel Inspector she is all about clean lines and no fussy frills etc.

That's very true.

I was saying to dh that yes I want a fantastic bed that goes without saying and a really good bathroom but spending thousands on chests of drawers or desks for example doesn't enhance my stay enough to justify the price.
