I felt embarrassed for Liberty in last nights episode. Hijacking Jake to tell her he loved her. Which he did eventually because he realised he had no choice or it would be game over. Liberty seems desperate to believe it.

I love Priya, not arrogant for me, just classy (unless that's a contradiction in terms for a LI contestant ) and intelligent.

You can be intelligent without studying to be a doctor. My most intelligent friend isn't a doctor (some of my friends are). She got a double first at Oxford and had some of her work published.

There's nothing at all wrong with knowing your worth. And women are held to different standards than men but I still think she came across a bit rude.

It's probably been mentioned before, but fishiest of all is that Jake bought girlfriend and boyfriend matching bracelets to take with him into Love Island - who does that? That looks like a calculated game plan

With regards to Priya saying she was the most intelligent, good for her. I do think the others may be intelligent but they don't seem it. I know Chloe and Millie said they had degrees but they are so inarticulate I'd never think they were intelligent. Just my opinion.

Chole is funny but she doesn’t come across as intelligent at all. I do like her though. Also agree with poster who said you can be intelligent and not be a doctor…

Well, it IS a game show. There’s a 50k prize.

For me the issue isn’t that Jake didn’t say I love you quickly it’s the fact that he does so many little red flag things and treats her badly
He was constantly pushing her to say things about really liking him and even loving him like It was some game the not saying anything in response just laughing like ha I won and telling the boys about it like

He’s displayed several controlling behaviours

He turns everything back on Liberty any time she raises any concerns or isn’t happy. He completely invalidates her opinions and she realises that she “overreacting”

He uses “but you’re my girlfriend” like some privileged position. He uses it to minimise and put down her feelings. He never offers any actual explanations just says but your my GURRRRRFRIEND

and most of all he has never bloody been interested in making sure Liberty is ok,
Comforting or reassuring her about him finding her attractive or having any levels of actual feelings for her

Jake had done his homework and knew that the bracelet thing had worked well in the past for Kem and so rightly or wrongly had it set up. I think he was saving his "I love you" declaration for an elaborate night he had planned to set up with all the others involved, serving a meal etc. I think that 6 weeks in that intense environment must feel like a much longer period of time.

Poor Liberty though, it's hard to watch.

The liberty/Jake thing was so hard to watch last night. I wonder what her parents think of him. And what they will say to her when they go into the Villa.

I think Priya went a bit far when she said "shocker" after they came first in most intelligent couple. I don't at all think she should hide her intelligence or not be proud of it or that they shouldn't have put themselves forward, but I would have felt a bit put down after that comment if I were one of the other islanders. I'd feel the same if it was said after winning something like most attractive couple.

@Eralos yes I agree, but Chloe was saying that she had a degree to justify herself as being intelligent.

Hopefully... Liberty will come out and watch it back, her family and friends will have her back. She'll realise he was manipulative and controlling and really wasn't that into her. She will get lots of attention anyway and go on to do really well in life. She will notice Jakey is snakey🐍🤞👏🏻

Gosh, poor priya, I’ve no issue with a woman knowing her worth and stating it, she’s hardly constantly reminding people, she’s made a couple of comments, I can’t get on board with the women need to not tell people. Brett has mentioned his phd more and he’s not getting insulted for it. Is that because it’s ok for men to do it and not women?

Yes I agree, i really like Priya, she's absolutely stunning, seems good fun, the girls like her so I bet she's good to chat to, she isn't afraid to say yeah I'm proud of this or whatever.

I think lib is gorgeous, but I hate to say it I bet jake latched onto her early seeing she would easily be swept up (didn't seem to take long), unlikely for others to come in and graft her, and is now gutted his gameplan is crumbling around his head. The sad thing is if he had relaxed and not been so hyper aware of it being a game, he probably would have really enjoyed their relationship, she's ace. That said, obviously we only see what's edited, it's easy to say she's being silly, but we don't know how he is off camera; and really only since the movie night and then once they learnt of public perception did the girls say anything.

Liberty has completely ignored all the other guys that came in because she put all her trust in Jake. She could have found someone much better.

Looking on Instagram this morning there are a massive group of ex-islanders from this year out together last night. The only ones missing are Aaron and Sharon I think. Even Danny and AJ are there and the Casa Amor ‘rejects’ and they seem to be having a brilliant time which is lovely
