Yes I agree. Bernadette's boyfriend, Howard was about the only decent one among them and even then he relied on the others being so awful to make him look ok.

I never really thought of them as awful - in what ways? I'm partial to a science geek so possibly overlooked their red flags...

He cheated on multiple girlfriends (including penny) and consistently bullies sheldon. I don't think that's decent at all.

I'd say Howard has an awful attitude to women.
Raj (although too shy to have a conversation with, let alone date) is fine in the first few series but his character changes in the last few when he tries juggling different women.
Sheldon doesn't have red flags in terms of misogny but is so self centred (possibly trying to portray him that way because he is presumably ND) that he would be impossible to date.
Leonard's a good guy.

I've forgotten any cheating. I don't think he bullies Sheldon. Sheldon bullies and manipulates him.

Howard, particularly in the first few series before he met Bernadette, was awful. A truly terrible character.

He objectified women, pushed boundaries and was stalkerish with virtually any women he had contact with.

So many reg flags he could have had a whole episode of 'Dr Sheldon Coopers Fun with Flags' to himself.

I didn’t think that Leonard bullied Sheldon. Sheldon would have been pretty hard to live with. Leonard was patient and made adjustments for him.

Ive only recently started watching tbbt. I think its wonderful!

I think that's what it was meant to be but being a socially inept science geek doesn't mean you have to be a misogynistic socialistic inept science geek who bullies others for laughs. I think it was very much written through a filter by people who didn't like women or science geeks very much.

I can’t stand Sheldon.
He was selfish, self centred, egocentric, annoying, arrogant, downright rude.
No redeeming qualities at all.

Leonard was the worst! Thought he was a nice guy who deserved the pretty girl, and cheated on pretty much all of them! And then claimed that was okay for various reasons! Howard was okay in the end, he was a pretty good husband to Bernadette wasn't he?

I think it portrayed a particular subsection of super nerds quite well. It pokes fun at how ridiculous and inadequate they are despite their intellect. There wouldn't be a story if they were all thoughtful and able in every area of their lives - you need conflict.

If I was uncomfortable with any character it was with the focus on their mothers - the fathers were either dead, absent or living a long distance away.
