I'm 36 and have such fond memories of great things shows from after school like art attack, how, fun house, byker grove! What happened to it all and live n kicking and smtv live on Saturdays!

I feel like now there are that many options people aren't watching the same thing so how do kids share their tv experiences? We only had 5 channels back then but it kind of felt like everyone was watching the same shows now fo kids just watch loads of stuff over differnt platforms? I have a young daughter and feel so sad she'll never watch fun house or the many amazing 90s shows there were for kids when I was young, or am I missing the boat, where is all the fun at for them nowadays??

NoNotMeNoSiree · 13/08/2021 21:56

Ohhh my kind of thread Grin

I loved
Mr Benn, Bagpuss, Fraggle Rock, Pigeon Street, Button Moon, T-Bag, The Muppet Show.
Then when a bit older loved Woof! Simon and The Witch, Mike and Angelo, Bodger and Badger.
Teens was all about Beverly Hills 90210 and Heartbreak High Smile

boobot1 · 13/08/2021 22:01

God I miss the 80sSad

Cheeseballer · 13/08/2021 22:02

Yes to this!
Queens nose, Round the twist and Wild house were great!

Then as I git a bit older and Channel 5 came along i watched The Tribe on Saturday mornings where all adults in the world were gone and teens and children were forming rival tribes. I remember thinking the Mall Rats were so cool with their alternative vibe!

Also remember Anita and Drazzic in Heartbreak High. And Xena.

@OakleyStreetisnotinChelsea Yes around the twist!! I'm sure it was Aussie drama, it was brill, they lived in lighthouse, even my mum loved this one!! I always remember the one with the Fox and the Lemons, so imaginative the story writing! There is too much spread out nowadays I don't know if there is anything like this that anyone regularly watches as everyone's got like free view, Netflix and prime or sky etc, bk then we only had 1-5 and I felt that was clearly enough!! X x

Huge video shop racked out by genre lol! It was just theeee most exciting part of the wknd on sat after tea my dad would say cmon kids were going to video world to get you kids some shoes! The excitement and the journey was the best! Miss those trips so much it isn't the same just always being at home having it at the switch of a button it's taken the fun out of it massively!!! The anticipation made the wait sweeter along with getting sweets from the shop too and maybe a slush puppie or bag of popcorn! Oh 90s I miss you so bad!!!

Haha eurotrash! I think it was a rite for every teen to sneak that on when the parents were in bed. I felt so naughty watching it!

And yes round the twist, the one where the ghost looks at you on the loo and the one where linda had a twin really stuck with me.

itscomplicatedlife · 14/08/2021 20:06

@Redannie118 LoL 🤣🤣🤣 I don't know what that one was!! Mum prob didn't let us watch that one but I recall some weird film aboit a drawing that became real aboit a house and a giant monster thing! I'll have see if my sister can remember wth that was!!

@Buttons294749 I felt like I'd totally get roasted if I got caught with Eurotrash on lol!! It was the norm tho wasnt it!! 🤣🤣🤣 Oh it was just ace!! I think tv was just fab and even when we got a bit older there was like adverts for new film releases on tv like Titanic wirh leonardo dicaprio and Forrest Gump, everything you needed to know aboit was on those 5 channels life was simple! Now I honestly have no idea where is best for my kid to be watching as she gets older as it's just so much of it! Just watching the film Clueless it's so funny!!! I love Paul Rudd beautiful man!!
