Is there a thread? I can't find it

(Watching late due to football!)

I don't see why Jake suddenly likes Liberty again and they were given the hideaway and a date.
He was interested in the new girls 2 seconds after they arrived.
I hate that the producers get ridiculously involved in every scene and conversation that takes place.
I moaned about this a few years ago but in series 2 and 3 the cast were strong enough to also have a few personalities and side friendships that were so strong that the producer's couldn't edit out.
Olivia and Jess in the first couple weeks were strong and did not fall into the immediate robot trap. Then of
course they did bit still.
The unseen bits unfortunately contain 80% of stuff we have already seen.
I think people in their mid to late twenties have more spark and chat to them. So always helps a little.
Love island has always been thin on content.
Problem is now theres zero content.

Just caught up on last night- I’ve gone right off Chloe again, she seems to have regressed to secondary school. “Naughty trio” aye right Hmm

Lucinda and Faye’s chat was the only bit I really enjoyed. Brad must be REALLY boring to put all these girls off because it’s not like Toby, Jake etc seem like scintillating conversationalists. Also telling that the girls seem to confide in Faye, she’s obviously quite caring underneath

TitsInAbsentia · 10/07/2021 23:02

Def saved all the funny bits for unseen this week, I actually laughed out loud at several things. Loving Liberty she seems really down to earth.

Toby telling Chloe she is like a pass the parcel 😂

unique1986 · 10/07/2021 23:06

And yes to the pool flirting messing around
Big Brother always had fun and dramatic hot tub stuff and truth or dare. Sometimes ended in tears and rows but was also entertaining and organic to see how the Dynamics were changing.
After 2 weeks people start to change . In LI producers dont allow anything organic to evolve.

Satsunday · 10/07/2021 23:20

Me too @TitsInAbsentia. I laughed out loud loads (loved the spider thing the boys did Grin). Brilliant episode. If anyone hasn't watched unseen bits yet would definitely recommend it - it's got everything in it that's been missing. Loads of funny chat.

PumpkinKlNG · 10/07/2021 23:25

For the people who think they don’t get to watch it they do because just watched the unseen bits and Lucinda knew chuggs had gone and said she matched with him on a dating app.

unique1986 · 10/07/2021 23:25

Just starting watching Celebrity Karaoke Club. OMG is so bad it's good. No worse than this series LI.

Zampa · 10/07/2021 23:36

Where is the Do Bits society? Where is the salmon? Where is the fun? They are so bloody dull!

TBF those two things only came into the show towards the end of the relevant series.

cupcakecourageous · 10/07/2021 23:48

I think Rachel will go, I think she's too sensitive for Love island and her short stay will already have caused damage.

But then I thought camilla was too good for the show and she did well out if it. Maybe Rachel will be ok when a decent man has her back.

PennyRoyal · 11/07/2021 00:18

Watched the Unseen programme for 1st time in any series tonight and it was much needed. Finally saw some of the personalities and the giggles. I have DC around the LI contestant ages and all they do is goof about, laugh, take the piss out of each other and have a good time. The Unseen footage was far more true to type. Loved the "Whats The Time Mr Wolf" game! And Toby's flip flop in the pool.

AngeloMysterioso · 11/07/2021 00:27

@Anythingelseintheboxpandora

Why have they restricted the booze? To stop them killing each other?
As I recall ITV got a lot of stick for basically plying the housemates with alcohol and then filming their resultant bad decisions/behaviour and broadcasting it to the nation. Shaky ground ethically speaking.
AngeloMysterioso · 11/07/2021 00:28

Why does everyone keep saying Dani Dyer was a redhead? She was mousey brown... maybe a hint of strawberry in the right light but nowhere near being classed as a redhead.

riotlady · 11/07/2021 00:38

Watching Unseen Bits now and I feel like Hugo is trying hard to fit in and just doesn’t quite, bless him. All his “oi oi top bants I’m one of the lads me” doesn’t quite ring true

Agree. The unseen bits programme is how the Sun - Fri shows should be
ElderMillennial · 11/07/2021 00:53

I didn't think Dani Dyer was a redhead either

Puffalicious · 11/07/2021 01:15

Unseen was fantastic! Why can't we have bits and bobs of that type of stuff weaved throughout the rest of the episodes? Otherwise it's all so bloody serious!

DavidTheDog · 11/07/2021 03:46

“Casa amor”! Sorry Grin

I think Dani Dyer identified as a redhead, so who are we to disagree?

What was salmon?
wizzler · 11/07/2021 07:38

Enjoyed last nights show, especially the lads mucking about. Was good to see them genuinely enjoying themselves instead of endlessly analysing relationships and pulling people for a chat

ILoveYou3000 · 11/07/2021 08:31

No. They swap it each year. One year boys pick next year girls pick. Same with casa amour.

Nope. Series 1 the girls picked. After that it's always been the boys picking as they come in. And 2019 was the only time the girls left the villa and went to Casa Amor.

Chicchicchicchiclana · 11/07/2021 08:34

I've only watched one other series of Love Island, it was the most recent one with Molly Mae and Tommy etc. And even then I didn't start watching until several weeks into that series. I remember saying to my teens "but don't they show anything other than these chats - mainly one to one chats - don't they do anything else in there at all?" and they said no. And if you think about it, they're filming 12 people for 15 hours a day and they've got to edit all that material down to 45 minutes of footage ... they actually aren't doing a bad job of keeping us up to date with key developments.

I think Sharon is fully aware of what's going on with Aaron, I don't think anyone needs to worry about her being duped.

Chloe and her naughty trio - just AWFUL! I can't be doing with Chloe at all. The hair flicking and stupid way of speaking, quite apart from blatantly going for the weakest man in the pack? Why couldn't she just coast along with Hugo for another week?

I hope Faye goes because it isn't really working for her in there. A lot of the boys are physically attracted to her at first but then it fizzles out. She trades on her feisty reputation but actually she comes across as sulky and angry.

user1471604848 · 11/07/2021 08:44

When people say Dani was a redhead, maybe they mean Demi Jones, who was in the 2020 series.

Zampa · 11/07/2021 08:51

@SugarbabyMilly

It was a way of jumping into the pool.

Thank you :)

ChilliHeeler · 11/07/2021 09:18

I think that ITV have upped their duty of care in terms of vetting the contestants. It’s on their website and very comprehensive. It’s resulted in fewer ‘personalities’ although as others have said not sure Rachel is the right fit given her reactions so I’m expecting her to be the one to go. It has resulted in a fairly inoffensive bunch who are all quite similar in personality etc. Particularly the boys.
