My god how have I never watched this?! Started it last night with dh and dd13, we watched the first two episodes lol. The birthday party one is so funny !! I’m currently planning dd4s birthday for next week lol.

The casting of Amanda's mother was inspired

The Mother's Day episode was brilliant where Amanda and her mother were having an awkward meal in the nice restaurant and then in came Ann and her mother laughing and having the craic together. Felt sad for Amanda for a change, who looked quite envious.

Kevin's character got much better in series 3

He is gorgeous, isn't he! They're all horrid to him, it's like watching my DD wind up her younger brother - there's an art to it.

One of the best series on TV. The only characters I don't like are Meg and Bill - there's no way on earth they would be together and neither are believable or funny.

Just realized Kevin was in Utopia, that actor has range!

Motherland is really a nice series I have been binge watching during lockdown.

If anyone thinks Meg is OTT, I have an ex- colleague exactly like Meg. You have to have met her/been on a night out with her to believe it's true. I'm sure Meg must have been based on her.

The actor who plays Kevin turned up in an old episode of Pulling I stumbled across on the iPlayer the other day (the Sharon Horgan connection I guess). He was so fresh-faced and adorable in it (though with questionable personality traits). Top tip for the Kevin fanciers on this thread!
