@SoupDragon
tomorrow I will do the pockets, side seams and maybe get the waistband on.
You've got one hour! One hour!
Oh Farie. I actually think she's the best if she wasn't under time pressure
I think you are right - it's the time pressure which she finds difficult. I'll miss her (though I would have missed any of them at this stage - I feel I know them). Her MTM was awful, though - not New Look at all.
They made bras in one of the earlier series iirc.
Yes, they did. It was the series where ALL of the sewers were a stunningly high standard, and it was neck-and-neck for ebvery challenge, and there was a younger woman who had taken up swewing after a horse-riding accident confined her to barracks for months (IIRC) and she had reached an AMAZING standard in that time. i think in the final she had that cloth that was covered with millions of tiny quartz-gemstones and she took a hammer to it - Patrick said something like "It's £10,000 a metre and she's smashing it up" in a sort of horrified and yet admiring tone . . . (IIRC)
There were a lot more pattern pieces to a bra than I realised.
I think the right one left, but for the wrong reasons - Farie is a much better sewer than Rebecca, but can't work against the clock, which is a great shame.
I actually liked Rebecca's skirt and jacket if it had been sewn together properly, and, as Esme said, the jacket hadn't had the contrasting flowery fabric on it - it cheapened the look.
Rafe's wedding dress was horrific! And I wasn't keen on the scuba skirt, though the sheer fabric top was exquisite! (My mother would have made me wear a vest under that.)
Serena was a deserving winner with those trousers and jacket - gorgeous - I've worn similar many years ago and looked fabulous in it. It's a very flattering look. I also think she did a much better job of her Oxford bags, but heigh-ho.
Really looking forward to the final, but it's a two-horse race.
