Friends reunion...

For all of you uk friends fans out there if your not already aware , the friends reunion is on Thursday at 8pm on sky one.
Just a bit of fun...

And I love the episode with all the kissing, when chandler kisses Monica in front of Rachel and phoebe and then has to kiss them too as to not let them know he’s in a relationship with Monica. Cracks me up everytime 🤭😄

LK said that she/the writers don't want another episode, as they all ended on a happy note, and that would all need to be unpicked in order to make another episode. She said she didn't want to make any of the characters' stories unhappy in order to find a story for a new episode. I thought that was quite a nice way to look at it.

I always feel that the laughter is forced between them all and last night was no different. They were at great pains to point out their closeness which seemed over the top. Loved the damp squib when JC asked them all individually if R and R were on a break. Starting with JA they all emphatically said YES! Wouldn't JA have said no? When it got to DS I swear he faltered knowing he should have the opposite answer to JA!

Loved seeing Jack and Judy. Janice was great!

I dont know why they had James Corden present, hes awful. I dont understand his success in the US at all!

He is awful isn't he. They must like the BLAAAAAH style of presenter, he makes me cringe he's so full of himself.

It was a lovely watch, laughed and embarrassingly even felt a bit emotional. You just want to take Matthew Perry home and look after him. In some ways Friends has not aged well at all (all white, all heterosexual) but still very funny. JA and CC are both so naturally gorgeous, they both look weird. LK looks fantastic. MLB is a honey.

It was so sad seeing Matthew Perry, he looked liked he had aged at least 20 years more than the others. I always had a huge crush on him, he was beautiful up until around series 4.
Agree that Matt le Blanc and Lisa Kudrow came across as the most genuine of them all. Aniston & Cox have had far too much work done.

I got extremely emotional, I find nostalgia very hard at times. I struggle with thinking about 20yr old me watching Friends and thinking I had all the time in the world to do whatever I wanted whenever I wanted. 😕

My favourite episode is the one where Monica and Chandler meet Erica, but bodge it by lying. Then Chandler talks to her. He says Monica is a mother without a baby. I found that so moving, and it was him stepping up as a husband .."and don't tell her I said this, but she is always right!"

I am so with you on this. Especially as my life has turned out nothing like I imagined...

I just re watched it and I definitely felt like LK was sidelined by the girls. Even when walking in for the interview CC and JA held hands with LK behind and then the celebratorey hug was awkward. Seemed like LK was closer to the boys from the body language xx

And the one where Chandler says that Monica is high maintenance but that he likes maintaining her! I thought that was so sweet!

@janlevinson I'm such an overthinker, and never seem to know whether I'm happy or whether I'm trying to talk myself into finding flaws etc, which defo doesn't help. My younger self always thought we were heading for a goal, and it didn't occur to me that real life would consist of mainly mundane stuff and worrying constantly about things such as elderly parents, our kids, money etc etc.
I genuinely worry about how kids who constantly watch Disney movies will be expecting life to turn out 😬

I have to say it made me feel sad in some ways watching it to see them looking older, reminding me too that I'm now older too. Time certainly goes by fast. I remember being a young teen having the Jennifer cut and trying to copy her style. I had such a girl crush.

@SpanishFly Yes I always thought I was going to get swept off my feet by a rich knight in shining armour. Real life has been a shock to the system for me 🤣

I felt exactly the same way. Dh and I were both taking a trip down memory lane and thinking back to how we were when it originally aired. Although I’m happy now, I did suffer years of depression and sometimes feel like I threw away my 20s. It just made me think of those years and how much Friends actually helped me through some very dark times. It was my go-to show when I wanted temporary relief from my issues. I was emotional the whole way through.

I didn't really know what to expect from it but I really enjoyed it. Felt quite emotional and cried at the start (when they were all meeting up at the sets) and also when they came out to the Theme music for the interview!

Felt very nostalgic and like meeting up with actual people I know again.

Thought David, Lisa and Matt came across very well. They seem like lovely people. Matthew too but just want to hug him and take care of him, I think he's quite insecure.

I knew Courtney had had work done but didn't realise Jennifer had, or that it would look so obvious!

Some of the bits I could have done without but overall I thought it was a really lovely look back. The bits where it was just them talking and reminiscing were the best.

Also did you notice they were all credited as exec producers? Ka ching ;)

This is why we will never have another friends... Nobody would say this about fresh prince.

The casting was perfect on that show.

Friends was quite liberal, women were having casual sex without being called sluts, they gave good representation to Jewish holidays and some jokes. You have a woman who grew up homeless.
Sure a couple things happened that weren't so PC today but completely disagree with your comment and think overall it has held up very well.

@Shelddd they're can't really be any argument that they're all white, they're all heterosexual and that's probably not massively representative of NYC then or now. Agree it was perfectly cast, just don't think it was as diverse as it might have been. It was 25 years ago, not 55 years ago. Either way, I enjoyed it then and still do.

Do you really think in the 90s it was uncommon to have a group of 6 friends (2 siblings) that were all white? Never happened? Lol come on.. ridiculous.

@Shelddd I didn't say it never happened. Obviously it did and does. I said it hadn't aged well in that regard. TV shows are much more diverse now and that's a good thing. As I said, i enjoyed it then and now.

You can tell white stories, black stories, heterosexual stories, homosexual stories, etc on different shows. Not every show needs to share every story.. it's more important a network has a diverse range of stories featured.

Better to watch friends, fresh prince, will and grace then to watch a show cast specifically to meet a diversity requirement... curious what modern shows you like that are so much better because of their diversity than those sitcoms I mentioned.
