I can totally see how celebs get sucked down the Botox and treatments hole.
For at least a decade or nearly two, from 30s and into 40s, you get the treatments done and you look amazing.
Like you’re simply not ageing.
So much better than everyone else, who’s gradually ageing away naturally.
But that can only last so long. You have to keep having treatments, keep getting tweaked, and meanwhile you’re also getting older.
You stop looking amazing, and (literally) unbelievably youthful. And you start to get The Look. The Surgery Look. The Botox Look. The Treatment Look. And you look less and less natural, less youthful, and just odd. Like a waxwork instead of a human.
Meanwhile, the people who didn’t go down the treatment look, maybe look their age, sure, but they can also look really good - arguably much better - and more natural.
But I don’t blame celebs - who get careers and are famous because of their beauty / looks (as much as their talent) - for going down that route one tiny bit.
Not one of us has the first clue as to what the pressure (from outside and inside) must be like.
And I say this as a 40-something who hasn’t had a thing done.
