For all of you uk friends fans out there if your not already aware , the friends reunion is on Thursday at 8pm on sky one.
Just a bit of fun...
who’s your favourite character and what’s your favourite epsiode?
Mines chandler...
And I love the episode with all the kissing, when chandler kisses Monica in front of Rachel and phoebe and then has to kiss them too as to not let them know he’s in a relationship with Monica. Cracks me up everytime 🤭😄

Bloody loved it!!!

I can totally see how celebs get sucked down the Botox and treatments hole.

For at least a decade or nearly two, from 30s and into 40s, you get the treatments done and you look amazing.

Like you’re simply not ageing.

So much better than everyone else, who’s gradually ageing away naturally.

But that can only last so long. You have to keep having treatments, keep getting tweaked, and meanwhile you’re also getting older.

You stop looking amazing, and (literally) unbelievably youthful. And you start to get The Look. The Surgery Look. The Botox Look. The Treatment Look. And you look less and less natural, less youthful, and just odd. Like a waxwork instead of a human.

Meanwhile, the people who didn’t go down the treatment look, maybe look their age, sure, but they can also look really good - arguably much better - and more natural.

But I don’t blame celebs - who get careers and are famous because of their beauty / looks (as much as their talent) - for going down that route one tiny bit.

Not one of us has the first clue as to what the pressure (from outside and inside) must be like.

And I say this as a 40-something who hasn’t had a thing done.

Did anyone catch the episode of Bear Grylls where he and Courteney went to (I think) Snowdonia. She opened up about what she had done to her face and said she was glad it was all reversible. It was quite sad seeing her so upset about it - how she had started to hate seeing herself. It can't be easy being revered for your looks to suddenly feel like you are losing them.

RedHotChiliChips · 01/06/2021 21:53

I loved the show too but could have done without all the teary eyed fan clips. I’m also similar age to the cast, few years younger and their lifestyle was always so aspirational.

LK looked a lot older in Girl In The Train which came out few years ago. So she must have had something done as she looked really good. I agree about the pressure on female stars, must be relentless from their agents.

MLB came across so normal and lovely. He’s still a fox!

Ross was always my favourite character, DS is a great comedian and nailed it down.

My favourite episode is Unagi and the one with manny. Freddy Prince Jnr was genius in that role Grin

I agree *@sociallydistained* - loved The Comeback, Cougar Town and Joey! Think I'll have to re-watch all of them Grin
I think the absolute best series any of them have done post Friends was Matt Le Blanc's Episodes. It's great.

She was wearing heavy tv make-up for the reunion. She posted a selfie a day or so after that I linked upthread where she isn't wearing make-up and her age is clear in that. She really doesn't look like she's had work done. She looks like a woman of 57.

paniniswapx3 · 01/06/2021 23:37

@trancepants I completely forgot about Episodes - you're right, that was fantastic!

bigspoonlittlespoon · 02/06/2021 00:01

I just loved that bit where LK mutters at the end of smelly cat 'I still think it was better when it was just me'. Do you think it was scripted? It was so Phoebe!

Have you seen Episodes?
Andylion · 02/06/2021 00:27

@paniniswapx3 , I see you have. 🙂

Totally not scripted. She says at the beginning she’s going to be Phoebe and then she was lol. I love Gaga so loved that bit so much.
JebelSherif · 02/06/2021 09:12

@JaniieJones

'Matthew Perry – my goodness. He was so hard to watch'

I found the opposite. MP and MLB seemed the most natural ones there. The ott whooping and gesturing from the other seems fake and desperate. I watched it but was disappointed.

I wonder why they don't realise when they talk and laugh there is supposed to be some creasing round the eyes..

I read recently he'd had dental work done the day before the recording, hence the slurred speech. I hope that's true and not an excuse/cover up.
RacMonPhoChaRosJoe · 02/06/2021 10:34

I didn’t think JA or CC were “whooping” or “desperate” or mean gurlz in any way. I thought the genuine affection that each had for all of the others came across!

I totally get why some celebrities end up like that. It must be so hard to live in that world. I do Botox regularly, not to make me look young, just less tired and I’m happy with that.
covetingthepreciousthings · 03/06/2021 10:10

Saw in the showbiz news this morning that Matthew Perry has called of his engagement. Hope he can find happiness in his life, obviously it doesn't have to mean settling down and having kids etc. But I think it's clear he's had a long time of addiction and issues, so hope he can come through the other side of that.

RacMonPhoChaRosJoe · 03/06/2021 11:07

Poor MP. He has so much going for him, he’s clever, funny and very talented with lots of fans and people rooting for him. It just doesn’t seem like he can see it for himself. And addiction is very cruel ☹️

I loved that too. Grin

I thought Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow were the most relaxed and at ease, throughout.

Just loved seeing the six of them back together. Also loved the various guest stars, but wish they were given more time to speak, instead of various celebrities talking about Friends.

placemats · 03/06/2021 13:51

JA is the godmother to CC's child.

I enjoyed watching it but I hated that James Corden was hosting.

They all looked great, though I think the was the most uncomfortable were MP and CC.

I was really put off watching it, because of him hosting it. I never watch anything that he is on. I kinda tuned him out, as much as possible.
JustJoinedRightNow · 05/06/2021 14:36

Can I ask, if you don’t like James Cordon, why that is?
I don’t mind him, but I’ve seen a lot of people speaking about the reunion and being put off by him. I would love to know why!

RacMonPhoChaRosJoe · 05/06/2021 15:04

I really liked him in The History Boys. But as an interviewer, he somehow manages to make it more about him, and he doesn’t build any rapport with the interviewee, and he has an annoying voice. That’s it for me personally!!

YellowMonday · 05/06/2021 15:15

@JustJoinedRightNow he has an absolute terrible reputation with a number of very negative stories floating around about him. Check out reddit...

Overall I don't think he is overly clever or funny and way to overexposed.

sociallydistained · 05/06/2021 16:20

He is awful and only acceptable as Smithy!

Pinkblueberry · 05/06/2021 18:34

MLB is my new favourite person. He’s really rocking the middle aged dad look and attitude - is it weird that I actually find it kind of attractive BlushGrin LK has the best laugh and I love how confident she it in herself. I hope MP is ok - I think everyone who loves the show is really rooting for him to be alright and he has no idea how amazing he was as Chandler, so funny.

JA, CC and DS are definitely more ‘Hollywood’ and although they seem nice enough and are all good actors, seem no where near as likeable and relatable as the other three.
