Friends reunion...

For all of you uk friends fans out there if your not already aware , the friends reunion is on Thursday at 8pm on sky one.
Just a bit of fun...
who’s your favourite character and what’s your favourite epsiode?
Mines chandler...
And I love the episode with all the kissing, when chandler kisses Monica in front of Rachel and phoebe and then has to kiss them too as to not let them know he’s in a relationship with Monica. Cracks me up everytime 🤭😄

Despite my reservations I thought it was a jolly, nostalgic trip down memory lane. I saw the line up and wondered where all the cameo guest appearances would lie but they were short and sweet and didn’t (for me) detract from the show itself.
I’d have liked even more behind the scenes action.

cocoloco987 · 28/05/2021 05:47

Especially when they were playing roles where there was constant simmering between the characters.

Remember though - if there is sexual energy on screen it means there isn't off screen. If there is not sexual energy, that's when you need to worry 😆

grafittiartist · 28/05/2021 06:33

Cocoloco!! Grin

MiaRoma · 28/05/2021 07:10

I absolutely love Friends. I hope the reunion is shown by other outlets soon as I dint have Sky.

Weve all changed our appearances in the last 25 years... we all look older... so I guess its no wonder they have changed too.

I do wish people would stop having botox and fillers, though, its so obvious and it looks awful (imo)

Rosewood017 · 28/05/2021 07:15

The woman who asked the first question in the audience, was she the girl who keeps punching Joey and he wears all those jumpers to break up with her?

AbsolutelyPatsy · 28/05/2021 07:21

Lisa Kudrow looks great, but the rest, not so much,
they should age gracefully, not like this

user7836 · 28/05/2021 07:22

@Rosewood017 no, just an audience member. That wasn't Soleil Moon Frye.

TheChosenTwo · 28/05/2021 07:44

Absolutely, I look ancient now compared to back then, but they look oddly enhanced! I mean, Lisa kudrow looks very smooth skinned (as in, no massively obvious wrinkles), it’s possible she’s had some Botox but if so, it’s been done sensitively.
As for some of the others, they look weirdly stretched and distorted! It’s not that they look older, they just look odd!

EarringsandLipstick · 28/05/2021 07:45

It's repeated on Sky One tonight at 9, if you didn't see it last night.

The mess that Matthew Perry has become is really sad.

Meltinthemiddle · 28/05/2021 07:46

I have to say I did find it a bit awkward during the quiz when the girls won and Lisa K went in for a group hug but JA and CC where already hugging so she was sidelined! I know the two are close in real life so wondered how Lisa K felt during the sho and if she always felt on the sidelines especially as all the attention was towards the other two.

Yes. I agree. I've watched some clips now, and you're right. Its not that jen etc look older. They do look different.

I guess different/stretched/smoothed is the new older 😁

GoofyIsACow · 28/05/2021 08:20

I loved it! I thought it was pitched perfectly, if they had done an episode, like LK said, they’d have had to unpick the story lines and ultimately it would have disappointed.
I’d have loved to see a few more supporting characters but overall i thought it was brilliant!

CornishGem1975 · 28/05/2021 08:25

I didn't love it. Didn't hate it but I think I would have preferred an actual episode. In all honesty I got a bit bored halfway through Hmm

Furball · 28/05/2021 08:26

I loved it too. Friends is my comfort blanket - love it and can watch any episode anytime. I still laugh and I still cry - especially the last episode.

I thought CC looked like she'd had the most work and also thought it totally ironic that MPs teeth were more or less exactly as bright white as Ross's in 'TOW Ross' Teeth'. Grin - but agree MP didn't look comfortable.

and Jack & Judy being there - [heart]

also I wouldn't recognise Gunther

I don't have a favourite character but think Ross deffo had some of the best storylines, teeth/spray tan/leather pants - but it's turned into a paste Grin

and also the way they weaved Janice into the story like in the next bed when Rachel was giving birth or buying the house next door to Monica and Chandler. Glad she made an appearance too.

AndWhat · 28/05/2021 08:36

I enjoyed it but felt it could have been a 2 part special. One with the directors talking about creating and casting the show and the development of the characters.
Then the next one could have been the cast part. It all felt a bit rushed through with so much history, I really enjoyed the script read through.
PIVOT and x doesn’t share food are still regular phrases in our family!

SmiledWithTheRisingSun · 28/05/2021 08:45

Love Joey 💖

Youdoyoutoday · 28/05/2021 09:25

I loved the surprise guests performing 'smelly cat' with Lisa!

I don't think she did though, she looked like she wanted to tell the guest (no spoilers) singer off as if she had been drowned out of her own song!

I felt really bad seeing Matthew Perry like that, he honestly looked so old and fragile. When he mentioned about people reaching out and he said something like he didnt feel they did, it was so sad.

Youdoyoutoday · 28/05/2021 09:28

@Germolenequeen

Hate James Corden - no idea why he's so popular in the US
let just be grateful that he is so he can stay there Grin
Caramel81 · 28/05/2021 09:32

Ross definitely had the funniest moments - Unagi, teeth, fake tan, leather pants, keyboard, blooper dance show. I love the one where he has to hide under the bed at his girlfriend’s holiday home when Bruce Willis shows up unexpectedly.
I also love the one where Rachel hires Freddie Prinze Jnr as the male nanny for Emma.
Oh and the one where Ben Stiller is Rachel’s date and he keeps screaming at people at the theatre. It’s definitely my favourite sitcom of all time and I never get bored rewatching it.

Tootshoots · 28/05/2021 09:58

I enjoyed it. I think Matt LeBlanc comes across best, just a genuinely nice guy. Matt Perry, just seemed lost didnt he, I think theres a lot of character traits he shares with Chandler especially the insecurities. When asked the question " where would the characters be now" Courtney was going on about what Monica would be doing and never mentioned Chandler. I felt sorry for Matt Perry then. He looked a bit gutted.

I was surprised at the Jen / David thing. I dont see them together at all. Bit awkward to admit they were into eachother while dating other people! Not sure I buy it. I would put her with Matt LeBlanc though.

Monica was always my favourite, she really came into her own as the seasons went on. But Courtney didnt make much of an impact in the reunion show. Shes obviously very capable of great comedy though. I'd love to see more of her.

Overall, I enjoyed it.

jay55 · 28/05/2021 10:22

I love that Matt le Blanc became fat Joey, he seems very happy. And he and David had a great rapport together instantly.

It is sad that Matthew Perry looks so unwell, and had far sadder memories of filming than the others.

I haven't seen it yet. Is it literally just them talking about the old days not an actual episode with them in character?
frugalkitty · 28/05/2021 11:22

Just watched it and laughed and cried happy tears all the way through, even though I wasn't expecting much from what I'd read beforehand. Loved seeing Janice again, she was always my favourite character. Totally agree with PPs about the facial work and the contrast with Lisa and Matt who haven't (at least not obviously) had work done.

SpanishFly · 28/05/2021 12:18

I'm so confused at why so many people thought it was a new episode- there would have been waaaaay more publicity for it if it had been an episode 🤔
There's no way they are all gushingly close, as they want us to believe. I remember a few years ago reading that the 3 guys didn't have the same bond as the women, but also that LK felt sidelined too, with JA and CC being close friends.
There's a lot of jealousy/envy at that age, so it must have been hard being the "least popular/least focused on" of the three women. The newspaper articles etc were generally focused on the other two

SueSaid · 28/05/2021 12:24

'I'm so confused at why so many people thought it was a new episode- there would have been waaaaay more publicity for it if it had been an episode'

I know you're right I hadn't been paying attention, just seen the odd clip and thought it was an episode showing what the characters are doing now. It would be been great!
