Just come in to find Thiem in a bit of trouble - has he been playing badly or has Andujar played great?

Mama I didn't see the first 2 sets- but they looked close. Andujar is a typical Spanish clay court player- so a dangerous opponent really.

Domi did look like he had the 3rd set (and match) but Andujar took that- and Domi has kind of not really played as well since then - though Pablo has played solidly.

Dom does not seem happy today.

But fair play to Pablo.

Poor Domi but looking at Pablo going forward will be no hardship.

Well- it was Thiem's half really, with the Big 3 in the same half (Daniil might be seeded 2nd but he's not a clay court player). He will be disappointed.

The Osaka debate is interesting. But I am not sure what to think. I do agree that no player is above the tournament- however much some think they are.

I don't know what to think about Osaka either, I get what she's saying but surely it's also part of the job description.....? Maybe a compromise where they can choose to miss say one a tournament would work....?
