Thanks for the new thread - I’m sure I posted something really interesting on the last thread when it was full but I can’t remember what!

So pleased that Rafa won - hated the biased commentary. Was really impressed with Rafa's Italian - I just expected him to say bongiorno which he did but he said lots of other things as well (not quite sure what!)

Waves - so pleased with that result & may it be repeated at Roland Garros.

Can't believe it's the last week of school!

I've been doing a bit of score checking- in Lyon, not gone well for Felix AA, who lost, and Jo-Willy, amongst others.

Aslan is playing Sinner later- that could be a good match.

Neal Skupski is back playing with Ken- but they lost.

ine Geneva, Roger has just lost to Andujar, who is not a bad clay court player, and has been around a while. Fed won't be happy with that though- not great preparation for RG (if he still decides to play).

Cilic had another bad day.

I think Lyon is on Prime, but Geneva isn't?

I’m not sure if Roger will play RG - he’s not had a good run leading up to it has he? I think he’s still focussed on Wimbledon and the Olympics (if it goes ahead) - he’s been out of tennis for a while and a lot of the younger players are playing really well now especially on clay

It’s quite funny that Medvedev is likely to be no 2 seed at RG when he seems to hate playing on clay - it could mean that Rafa might meet Djok in the semis?

Sinner against Aslan should be a good match - I had a quick look on prime but couldn’t really work out which tournaments they were showing

I think Rafa is back in Mallorca on his boat - I think I saw a dolphin on his Instagram feed (it was some sort of fish anyway )

Yes, Rafa and Djok might end up meeting in the semis at RG- I think they got confused the other day in Rome, at one point they were talking as though Rafa and Djok would be seeded 1 and 2. But RG doesnn't do what Wimbledon do and go off form on a surface (and a convoluted formula)- so Rafa will be 3rd.

And will still be 3rd, even if he wins.

Unless Roger rocks up in Belgrade next week, to try and get some practice in, it will be a big ask to just go straight to RG. Yes, in his absence, the younger players have got much better. I think even Rafa will be vulnerable this year. But I think that every year .

I also think Rafa is more vulnerable this year Raahh but I didn’t give him much hope last year with everything against him - hopefully I’ll be proved wrong again this year

I tried to watch a bit of Lyon yesterday but when I tuned in, it said rain had stopped play (even though it was sunny at the time - I suppose they must have been waiting for the courts to dry off). Then I had to go to Sainsbury's so that was the end of that

Hopefully will be able to watch some today, Gasquet plays Schwartzman later.
