Fizzy jury service a bit better yesterday because we probably spent more time actually in the court room than the previous two days put together.
Unfortunately though, I was chewing a soft chewy mint in an afternoon break and thought - ooh! There's a hard bit in it. Only to realise it was either part of my tooth, or the filling, or both! Thankfully, it doesn't seem to hurt too much at the moment, but it's really rough and jagged and keeps catching on my tongue and making me lisp a bit, for some strange reason Obviously, I can't try to get a dentist appointment until after jury service ends.

I see Osaka is refusing to do any press at the French Open and says she hopes the large fine she will no doubt get will be donated to mental health charities.

Hope your tooth is ok kazza! I have finally got an appointment for my teeth- my front tooth is very wobbly due to medication/gum issues (that ordinarily I would be seen every few months for). I haven't had an appointment in 18 months. .

I read that about Osaka. Not really sure what to make of it, to be honest. I don't think any player likes having to have a press conference when they have lost. It can be interesting to hear the players take on their performance (like Rafa's 'disaster' ) but if the process is stressful, then maybe it shouldn't happen.
She will need to be prepared for people accusing her of being a bit precious though, I imagine. Rightly or wrongly.

Dh has his team to look after (which takes up too much time), and is league fixture secretary. I pretend to listen to him when he starts talking about everything that is going on.

He usually watches football on his computer (his desk has several massive screens).

I've put up with him wfh all this time. He's not bothering me during Wimbledon. or any other tennis tournament .

Hope you get your tooth sorted out kazza - the same bit of mine keeps falling off every year - I think I’ll need a crown the next time I go to the dentist (on my tooth not on my head )

I wondered that about the Euros Jane - I’m also outnumbered here - DS1 and DH are also Tour de France fans which usually clashes with Wimbledon as well - I might need to move out! At least if the pubs are open they might go there to watch some matches and leave me in peace!

I’m not sure what to make of the Naomi Osaka thing - surely no one really likes doing press conferences? (This is the first I’ve heard about it so will go and investigate further)

It's a bit weird Fizzy but I'm not a fan of statues of people, they usually look awful. I wonder what the Diana statue will be like? A nice monument is much better IMO.

DH has just told me about a programme on Radio 5 called All About Djokovic (not sure why they’re not doing an all about Rafa in time for the french Open ) - he said it was quite interesting especially Boris (still don’t think he spills the beans!).Apparently Boris rates Rafa above Roger and Novak - might give it a listen

Poor Rafa

It reminds me of my one trip to Wimbledon- before Henman had made an impact, and years before Murray- the TAW programme always ended with a shot of the Fred Perry statue. I visualised it to be life size.

I had my picture taken near it.
It is really disappointingly small ( but looks like Fred, at least and less likely to give you nightmares)
