Awful, these decisions they face are brutal aren’t they? Who’s the most likely to die first without surgery, it’s bleak.
Hats off to them, it’s a juggling act with peoples lives at risk. I wouldn’t want to be making those choices

How come over 20's are treated by paediatric staff? Is it because they have long term conditions?

Poor David and his family.

Adult services don't like looking after these patients as they feel they are best suited to paediatrics. As paediatrics is much more holistic than adults. And parents and cases are allowed to be resident on wards at all times. However where do you draw the line. These patients will still be the same at 40 And 50 years old. Paediatrics doesn't have the capacity to care for these patients indefinitely. And as a consultant in the Liverpool series said. " how would you feel if your 2 year old needed a PICU bed, that's occupied by a 33 year old."

So sad, that was exactly as it happened for my sister, all ok one day, nothing the next....he was born looking perfect at 36 weeks.

Bloody hell Alan's (I think that's his name) been through a lot... From an insect bite!
He said they told him if he didn't stop working it would never recover so he stopped working 4 years ago... But it's still not recovered!

I can't believe the wound has been like that for so long! 😲

Colin was too poorly to go to his mum's funeral and they couldn't even get signal to watch it via facetime 😞
